Lady Chaps Open Conference Slate Thursday in Oklahoma

LADY CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
• Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaps have made their way to Oklahoma City, Okla. for their 2017 Heartland Conference opener against the Eagles of Oklahoma Christian.
• The Lady Chaps enter the game with a 2-1-0 record for the season. All three of their games have resulted in shutouts.
• Head coach Alex Denning and his squad are 1-1-0 on the road this year. They concluded the 2016 campaign with a 2-3-2 record on the road in Heartland Conference regular season contests.
• LCU is coming off of a 2-0 win over Wayland Baptist University Monday night in Plainview, Texas.
 
STORY LINES
• Lubbock Christian has tallied a total of 21 goals in the rivalry with Oklahoma Christian. Further, the only non-winning result that the Lady Chaps have had against the Eagles came in a 3-3 draw last season (10/8/16). 
• The Lady Chaps have posted a total of five shutouts against OC, two of which have come on the road.
• As a squad, the Lady Chaparrals have notched six goals on the season from five different players. Senior Kate O'Gara is the only LCU player to log two goals.
• In total, Lubbock Christian has posted 55 shots in three games played. They are averaging 18.3 shots per game, while holding opponents to 6.3 per contest. Denning's squad has logged 24 shots on target in 2017, for a 43.6% mark in the shots on goal category.
• The Lady Chaparrals are currently 4-0-0 all-time in Heartland Conference openers. The meeting with the Eagles marks the second consecutive year that LCU and OC have squared off in a conference opener.
 
SCOUTING OC
• The Eagles head into Thursday night's contest with a 1-1-0 record having scored a total of three goals on the season. Their lone win came in a 1-0 result at home against East Central University (8/31/17).
• OC has three players with a goal on the year and have averaged four shots on goal per contest.
• The Eagles come into the match after finishing 4-12-2 overall and 2-10-2 in Heartland Conference action in the 2016 season.
• Oklahoma Christian has seven seniors on their roster. Of those seven seniors, two have logged a start so far this season.
 
SERIES HISTORY WITH OC
• The meeting with OC will be the eighth all-time. Lubbock Christian holds a 6-0-1 record in the series. In their previous showdown, the squads concluded with a 3-3 double overtime draw. In the double overtime thriller, Haley Knesek managed to score two goals, including a 85th minute volley to tie up the margin.
