LUBBOCK, Texas (October 27, 2018) – The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals resume their four-match homestand to close out the regular season and have an opportunity Saturday to claim at least a share of their first Heartland Conference regular season title in program history hosting St. Mary's University at noon. Along with a win Saturday, LCU would clinch the No.1-seed for the Heartland Conference Tournament and they would host the four-team tournament, which would begin Nov. 9.
ST. MARY'S | Sat., Oct. 27 | Noon
- St. Mary's holds a 13-9 advantage in the all-time series dating back to 1980. The Lady Chaps had a six-match win-streak against the Rattlers, until falling all three meetings last season. Their prior meeting this season resulted in a 3-0 LCU win in San Antonio, Texas on Sept. 27.
- StMU, 13-12 overall, moved to 7-2 in conference after a 3-0 win Tuesday over Texas A&M International. The defending Heartland Conference Tournament champions carry a No.2 preseason ranking in the Heartland Conference preseason poll and enter the week in second place in the standings behind LCU. They played a non-conference contest Friday evening in Canyon, Texas, falling 3-0 at West Texas A&M.
- The Rattlers are 3-4 in road play this season. Their loss Friday ended a three-match road win streak.
- The match features the top two serving teams in the Heartland Conference, as StMU ranks second behind LCU in serving aces with 123, for a pace of 1.4 per set.

GAME NOTES
- Lubbock Christian takes a 18-7 record into the contest and they are 6-2 in home games this season. LCU has won their last seven home matches.
- LCU is 8-1 in conference play this season. LCU maintained a one-match lead in the Heartland Conference standings with a 3-0 win over Texas A&M International Thursday (St. Mary's is second at 7-2). LCU's conference record of 8-1 is their best nine-match start in Heartland Conference play since an 8-1 record through nine matches to begin their 2014 Heartland Conference schedule (they went 9-1 through the first 10 games of conference play in 2014).
- LCU produced 9.0 team blocks in the match Thursday, with
Jaiden Kennedy leading the Lady Chaps with six. It is the sixth time this season LCU has had at least 8.0 blocks in a three-set match. Kennedy produced three solo blocks, which is a season high by a Lady Chaps member this season. Her career high is four from Sept. 30, 2017 against West Texas A&M.

Maddie DeGuire leads the conference in aces per set with 0.43 (36
th nationally). DeGuire leads the Heartland and is 52

Jennifer Lawrence has served as head coach. Since 2006, the prior single-match high for a Lady Chaps member in aces was six (done twice this season by DeGuire). The mark matches the highest total in a five-set match in NCAA Division II play this season and ties as the 10th highest single-match total in Heartland Conference history.
- Marshall leads the Heartland Conference and ranks 31
st nationally with a conference-leading 10.87 assists per set, which ranks sixth nationally among all freshmen. Marshall leads the team in double-doubles this season with 12, with double-doubles in seven of nine conference matches played.
