WICHITA FALLS, Texas (October 14, 2019) – Lubbock Christian's men's golf team is in 14
th at the Midwestern State Invitational, with
Zach Burkholder in a tie for 26
th individually.
Par for the Wichita Falls Country Club Course where the Chaparrals are playing their last tournament of the fall season. The team started off the day with a 309 in round one, but improved by 13 strokes with a 296 in round two. They are six strokes behind UT Permian Basin and Regis, who are tied for 12
th.
Burkholder followed the same pattern as the Chap team as a whole, shooting better in round two than in round one. He was six over par with a 77 in the morning, but shot eight strokes better in the second round with a 69. He enters round three with a 146 overall.
Jeffery Maciejewski followed close behind Burkholder in a tie for 33
rd with an overall score of 148. He started the day four over par with a 75, but improved by two strokes with a 73 in round two.
Maxwell Mitchell was the only Chap to shoot better in the first round than he did in the second round. Mitchell posted a 75 in the first round before carding a 77 in round two.
Chase Mykelby will try and improve from his tie for 80
th in round three after shooting an overall 159 on Monday. He shot an 82 in the first round, but improved by five strokes with a 77 in round two.
Tanner Thompson rounded out the Chap competitors at the invitational, shooting an 83 in round one and a 90 in round two for a day one score of 173. Thompson sits in 89
th place.
