Bowman Leads Steady Effort as Chaparrals Cut 12 Strokes in Round Two but Remain 10th After 36 Holes

ROCKWALL, Texas (April 20, 2026) – Lubbock Christian showed improvement in its second round but remained in 10th place after 36 holes at the Lone Star Conference Championships, posting a team score of 626 (319-307) Monday on the 7,320-yard, par-72 layout at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club.

The Chaparrals trimmed 12 strokes off their opening round with a 307 in the afternoon, but were unable to gain ground in the standings entering Tuesday's final round of stroke play.
Senior Hayden Bowman led LCU with rounds of 77 and 74 for a 36-hole total of 151 (+7). Making his fourth appearance at the LSC Championships—becoming just the third player in program history to reach that mark (Tiaan de Jager and Braxton Floyd are the others) —Bowman delivered a steady day and positioned himself inside the top 20 individually at 17th.

Maximiliano Dufey turned in one of the team's strongest second-round efforts, following an opening 79 with a 1-over 73 to sit at 152 (+8). He highlighted the afternoon round with a 2-under 34 on the back nine and is tied among the tournament leaders with eight birdies (tied for second).

Dylan Ford posted rounds of 78 and 80 (158, +14), while Hudson Reagan improved by five shots in the second round (85-80) to finish the day at 165 (+21). Grayson Henegar also showed progress, cutting nine strokes between rounds (91-82, 173).

As a team, LCU tied for sixth in par-3 scoring (+11) and recorded 21 birdies (seventh in the field), but struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities, particularly on par-5s, where they finished tied for ninth (+5). The Chaparrals also recorded 53 bogeys across two rounds.

With only the top four teams advancing to medal match play, LCU will need a significant move in Tuesday's final round to climb into contention. The final round is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, with pairings determined by Monday's standings.
