LCU Looking For Program-Record 13th Win

LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN (12-4-2, 9-2-1) vs.
EASTERN NEW MEXICO (8-7-1, 5-7-0)
Saturday, November 9 – 2 p.m.
LCU Soccer Field – Lubbock, Texas

LADY CHAP HEADERS
  • After clinching a spot in the Lone Star Conference Tournament earlier this season, LCU has now secure the right to host a first-round game after beating West Texas A&M 3-2 on Thursday. The first round game will be on Tuesday against a to-be-determined opponent
  • With the Lady Chaps scoring three goals in Thursday's win against West Texas A&M and Dallas Baptist recording just one in their game, LCU has now moved into first in the conference in scoring average with 2.53 goals per game
  • Lubbock Christian has scored two or more goals in 11 different games this season and is undefeated in those contests. They have only one once when scoring just one goal
  • With 12 wins this season, the Lady Chaps have matched their program record for victories, which was set in 2012, but they can break that record on Saturday
  • The Lady Chaps were ranked eighth in the most recent South Central Regional poll. The top six teams in those rankings after the conference tournament will advance to the NCAA Tournament

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
  • Midfielder Allison Scott scored one goal and assisted another on Thursday, marking her third straight game with three points. For the year, the Lubbock native is up to 26 points, which is the second-most in the Lone Star Conference
  • The Lone Star Conference leader in points is also a Lady Chap, with Haley Knesek tallying her 28th point of the season on Thursday. She is one away from matching her single-season career record of 29, which she set in 2016 as a freshman
  • LCU is still allowing less than one goal per game for the season with a .94 goals against average, which is the fifth-best mark in the LSC
  • Hailey Phipps became the 11th different Lady Chap to score a goal this season, hitting the game-winner on Thursday evening. There are still another four LCU players, however, with multiple shots on goal this year who haven't yet scored
  • The Lady Chaps have scored 13 goals this season in the first 15 minutes of games. They are 12-1 in games where they score first

SCOUTING ENMU
  • The Greyhounds are currently just outside the conference tournament, sitting in seventh place with 15 conference points
  • Desiree Morgas is the team's offensive leader with nine goals, four assists and 22 total points
  • Eastern New Mexico has a scoring margin of exactly zero, scoring and allowing 1.38 goals per game
  • Whitney Dockweiler has done the majority of the team's goalkeeping, allowing 18 goals  with 80 saves
  • Joshua Smith is in his second year as the head coach of the Eastern New Mexico women's team

THE SERIES WITH THE GREYHOUNDS
  • There have been three matches all-time between the Lady Chaps and the Greyhounds dating back to the 2010 season. LCU won that first matchup 1-0, but lost the second meeting in 2013 2-1. In the last meeting between the two schools in 2015, the teams fought to a 2-2 draw in Lubbock.
