COMPLETING THE TASK
Thursday, LCU picked up their first-ever win in Lawton, Okla. over Cameron, and Saturday they will seek their first-ever win in Wichita Falls, Texas over Midwestern State. The two programs are set for a 2 p.m. tip-off inside Ligon Coliseum, where LCU is 0-14 all-time against the Mustangs. LCU is 10-0 overall on the season, with a 4-0 Lone Star Conference record.

LONE STAR DEBUT
The Lady Chaps are playing in their first season in the Lone Star Conference and are 4-0 so far this season in conference play. A trio of Lady Chaps are averaging double figures in LSC play, led by Allie Schulte, who is averaging 15.8 points and 2.8 steals per game. Maddi Chitsey (14.8) and Ashton Duncan (12.8) are each averaging in double figures in conference contests. LCU is shooting 50.0% from the field from the field in conference contests. They have the advantage in three-point field goals (37-30), steals (32-22) and blocks (25-7) in LSC games.

WHO IS COUNTING?
LCU's 10-0 start tops their 6-0 start to the 2017-18 season and it is their best start since their memorable 2015-16 season in which they went 35-0. LCU is one of two unbeaten teams in the LSC and there are nine unbeaten teams in Division II.

CAREER MARKS
Maddi Chitsey, who is one of 65 active NCAA Division II players with over 1,000 career points, recorded two blocks against Cameron Thursday, which has her with 123 career blocks. The 123 career blocks has her ranking fifth in program history and she is four blocks away from moving past Candace Clenney (122 from 2002-2006) and into fourth in program history.

RELAX
Despite posting an 10-0 record, the Lady Chaps can't say they have not faced adversity. LCU has overcome a deficit in eight of their 10 games this season, with a 10-point deficit on Nov. 29 against Southern Nazarene marking their biggest deficit of the season. LCU is 2-0 this season when trailing at the half and 2-0 when trailing after three quarters. LCU went 7-3 last season when trailing at the half and 1-3 in contests they trailed after three quarters. Their two games this season they have never trailed have been their latest two games played.

KING OF THE ROAD
LCU is riding a 21-game win streak dating back to last season and they have won their last four road contests. The Lady Chaps are 3-0 this season on the road, with a 2-0 road mark in conference competition. Maddi Chitsey leads LCU in road-play, averaging 15.7 points a game on the road. Ashton Duncan (15.0) and Allie Schulte (14.7) are also averaging double figures in points on the road.

FIVE THINGS ABOUT MSU
1 > The Mustangs are 4-3 this season coming off a 76-64 home win Angelo State Thursday, which improves their home record to 3-2 this season. MSU is coming off a 12-16 season in 2018-19, finishing sixth in the LSC with a 9-11 record.
2 > Midwestern State is preseason picked eighth in the LSC Preseason Poll. The Mustangs are 2-1 in conference play following a loss at Texas Permian Basin and wins over Western New Mexico (road) and ASU (home).
3 > MSU is third in the LSC in "fewest turnovers," as they have 134 on the season. Surprisingly, their opponents have had 118 on the season.
4 > Along with limiting turnovers, MSU limits their fouls. They rank 25th nationally in fouls with a total of 130 fouls on the season.
5 > Frances King and Mica Schneider pace the Mustangs office, with King ranking second in the LSC in assists per game (32nd nationally, 5.0 per game) and Schneider ranking fourth (4.6 per game). King also ranks third in the LSC in assist/turnover ratio (1.75) and Schneider ranks fifth (1.68).

THE SERIES AGAINST MSU
The Mustangs command the all-time series with a 21-8 series record over LCU, which included 11 consecutive wins until LCU won the prior two meetings (the last meeting resulted in a 65-57 win on Nov. 25, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas). Each school has conflicting all-time records for the history of the two programs, as there were some MSU forfeitures in the mix, which enters into the confusion. LCU is 0-14 all-time in Wichita Falls against MSU.

ACTIVE LEADERS VS. MSU
Here is a look at the top active Lady Chaps career leaders against Midwestern State:
Maddi Chitsey / 1 game (17 points, 5 rebounds)
Caitlyn Cunyus / 1 game (12 points, 3 assists)

PREVIOUS RECAP VS. MSU
Nov. 25, 2017 (San Antonio, Texas) – LCU:65 - MSU:57
Maddi Chitsey led No.6/8 Lubbock Christian University with 17 points and teammate Tess Bruffey produced a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds to help the Lady Chaparrals improve to 7-1 with a 65-57 win over Midwestern State University at the St. Mary's Thanksgiving Classic inside Bill Greehey Arena.

The final score was not indicative to the statistics of the game, as LCU had a 51% (25/49) shooting percentage from the field and held MSU to 18% (21/75) shooting from the floor. LCU never trailed in the contest and held a lead of at least 14 points for 14 minutes. Credit the Mustangs, who out-rebounded LCU 48-37 with 26 offensive rebounds and finished the game on a 16-4 run, holding the Lady Chaps without a field goal over the final 6:20 of the game.

The Lady Chaps opened the game with a balanced effort. On the defensive end, LCU held MSU to three field goals on their opening 28 shot attempts (10.7%). Of MSU's first five field goals (spanning nearly the opening 18 minutes of play), only one was a traditional two-point field goal, as MSU had a pair of three-pointers and a pair of "old-fashioned" three-point plays.  On LCU's offensive end, Tess Bruffey was off to a slow start (one field goal on her first seven attempts), but her teammates were a combined 8-of-14 (57.1%) from the field. The Lady Chaps used a pair of 6-0 runs and a 10-0 run, sparked by a Maddi Chitsey three-pointer, to lead 24-10 with 3:31 remaining in the second quarter. Surged by a 58.3% (7/12) shooting mark from the field in the second quarter, LCU took a 32-20 lead at the half.

Hannah Reynolds produced a layup 44-seconds into the fourth quarter to cut LCU's lead to 32-24, but LCU responded with an 11-2 run capped by five straight points from Caitlyn Cunyus. Leading 55-39 heading into the fourth quarter, LCU built their lead to its largest (61-41) before the closing 16-4 Mustangs run. LCU's final 6:20 was not filled with missed shots (they were 4-of-8 from the field in the quarter), but plagued with eight turnovers in the stretch.

Chitsey, coming off her first game in which she led LCU in scoring in her career, led LCU with 17 points and was 7-of-10 from the field. Three Lady Chaps joined her in double figures, with Cunyus (12 points) and Olivia Robertson (11 points) joining Bruffey and Chitsey. Bruffey's double-double was her fourth of the season and the 18th of her career.

Midwestern State was led by Liz Cathcart, whose 10 points placed her as the only Mustang in double figures. The Mustangs had an 18-7 scoring advantage in second chance scoring and 17-3 scoring advantage in points off turnovers.
