LUBBOCK, Texas (September 11, 2019) - The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals open their home schedule of the 2019 season Thursday hosting the Chap Classic inside Rip Griffin Center. LCU and Lone Star Conference colleague Texas Permian Basin will welcome Southwestern Oklahoma State, Black Hills State, Pittsburg State and Dixie State to this season's field. LCU opens their play, and home slate, Thursday hosting SWOSU before facing PSU and BHSU Friday and DSU Saturday. The tournament is the final regular season tournament for the Lady Chaps, who open conference play Sept. 20.

SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE | Thursday, Sept. 12 | 7 p.m.
- LCU and SWOSU are meeting for the sixth time all time and the fourth time since 2016. The Lady Chaps have a 3-2 all-time series lead, despite SWOSU claiming wins in the prior two meetings. The two programs met in Lubbock last season, with SWOSU defeating LCU 3-0 in LCU's 2018 home opener (Sept. 6, 2018).
- SWOSU is a member of the Great American Athletic Conference, where they are preseason picked first in the conference. They went 21-7 last season, finishing in a share of second place in the GAC (13-3). SWOSU is LCU's second opponent (Colorado Mesa / RMAC) preseason picked to win their conference.
- The Bulldogs are 3-2 to open the season, going 2-2 at a classic hosted by Missouri Southern State before defeating Southwest (N.M.) Tuesday in their home opener.
- Libero Kaitlyn Dillon, setter Allie Hoang and outside hitter Maicee Morgan were named to the All-Tournament Team following the Holiday Inn & Comfort Suites Southern Invite hosted by Missouri Southern last weekend. Dillon posted a team-high 87 digs, including 20 or more in three-of-four matches. Hoang averaged 8.86 assists and 4.43 digs per set for the tournament.   Morgan, a freshman, combined for 27 kills in the Bulldogs two victories Saturday.
- SWOSU ranks eighth nationally in team attacks per set (40.6), due in part to ranking ninth nationally in digs per set (19.2).
