LUBBOCK, Texas (September 14, 2019) - The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals conclude their play in the Chap Classic Saturday hosting Dixie State University. Each team has been flawless in the Chap Classic, going 3-0. LCU enters the match on a five-game win streak and heads into Lone Star Conference play following the match.

- The Lady Chaps and Dixie State have never met. LCU is 2-1 all-time against Utah based programs.
- DSU is preseason picked third in the RMAC. They completed the 2018 slate with a 22-6 record, going 16-2 in conference play, which included a share of the RMAC regular season with Colorado School of Mines.
- Dixie State is in their final season of NCAA Division II status, as they plan on joining NCAA Division I and the WAC next season.
- The Trailblazers went 1-3 last weekend in a classic they hosted, posting their lone win over Stanislaus State. Since then, they have rattled off a trio of wins in Lubbock and have improved their record on the season to 4-3.
- Mykenna Nelson entered the tournament leading the team and ranks 24
th nationally with 5.6 digs per set.
LADY CHAP NOTES
- The Lady Chaps have a 3-0 record at home this season, marking LCU's best home start since a 7-0 start to the 2014 home schedule. LCU went 9-4 at home last season.
- LCU posted 89 digs Thursday and it marked the highest by a NCAA Division II program this season in a three-set match (the highest last season was 104 by Upper Iowa). The mark by LCU was the highest total in a three-set match by a Lone Star Conference program since Angelo State had 90 digs on Nov. 8, 2014 against LCU.
-The Lady Chaps are leading the Lone Star Conference with 1,052 attacks on the season, leading to a conference-high 330 kills.
Hannah Thomas has received much of the effort, averaging 9.8 attacks per set and ranking third in the conference with 89 kills (sixth in the LSC with 3.3 kills per set).
- Lubbock Christian has served up 45 aces in their seven matches this season. They have 1.7 aces per set on the season, ranking fourth in the LSC.
Bradi Marshall entered the week co-leading the conference and with a share of 17
th place nationally with 10 aces on the season, but has dropped to sixth in the conference with 12. She trails team-leader and conference co-leader
Maddie DeGuire, who has 13.
- Marshall also ranks second in the LSC in assists per set with a rate of 10.1. She leads the LSC in total assists with 273. Friday, Marshall posted her fourth consecutive double-double of the season and the double-double against Black Hills State was the 20th of her LCU career. She had a career-high of 24 digs Thursday, topping her prior career-high mark of 18 (she had 18 twice in her career).
