The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals close a conference-opening three-game road trip, while also opening a busy three-game week of matches Wednesday heading to San Angelo, Texas to face Angelo State University for a Lone Star Conference and divisional contest inside Junell Center. The 7 p.m. match will pit a 1-1 LCU squad (in division play against a 2-0 (division play) Rambelles team that is one of two LSC teams in their division without a blemish on their record.

ANGELO STATE | Wednesday, Sept. 25 | 7 p.m.  
-LCU and Angelo State are meeting for the 25th time all-time, but it marks the first meeting as conference foes. ASU leads the all-time series with a 16-8 mark. Despite the ASU series advantage (they had a nine-match win streak from 1980 to 1986), LCU has won six of the past seven meetings, including the prior two meetings. The previous meeting resulted in a 3-0 LCU win in San Angelo on Nov. 8, 2014. Twelve (12) of the prior 24 meetings have been played in San Angelo, where LCU is 5-7. LCU has won their last five games played in San Angelo, with ASU's last home win coming on Sept. 27, 1986.
- ASU is preseason picked to finish third in the Lone Star Conference. They went 22-10 overall last season, finishing third in the LSC with a 15-5 conference mark.
- The Rambelles are off to a 10-1 start to the 2019 season and they are receiving votes in this week's AVCA rankings. They are atop the LSC unnamed six-team division containing LCU, with a 2-0 mark after road wins over West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico.
- ASU is second in the LSC in both hitting percentage (.273) and opponent's hitting percentage (.120).
- Makenna Hanssen led the Belles defense in digs against West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico, averaging 5.43 digs per set to claim LSC Defensive Player of the Week honors. She had 15 digs versus ENMU and 23 against WT in the two wins. Hanssen also recorded an ace for the week and helped the ASU defense hold opponents to a .142 hitting percentage.

LADY CHAP NOTES
- The Lady Chaps head into the contest with a 6-4 record, looking for their second road win (1-2) of the season. LCU heads into the match following a 3-2 loss Saturday at West Texas A&M.
-The Lady Chaps rank second in the LSC in attacks per set (38.2), ranking 32nd nationally. Their total attacks mark of 1,526 attack attempts ranks second in the conference (46th nationally). Hannah Thomas has received much of the effort, totaling 406 attacks (leads the conference) and averaging 10.2 attacks per set (ranks  second in the conference). She ranks fifth in the LSC in kills (128), ranking eighth with 3.2 kills per set.
- Lubbock Christian has served up 60 aces in their 10 matches this season (fifth in the LSC). Maddie DeGuire leads the team in aces with 19, which ranks third in the conference and 34th nationally. She ranks third in the conference with a pace of 0.48 per set. Bradi Marshall ranks tied for seventh in the conference with 15 aces.
- Marshall also leads the LSC in assists per set with a rate of 10.1, ranking 42nd nationally.  She leads the LSC in total assists with 404 (31st nationally). Over the weekend, she had 42 assists in the win over ENMU and followed with 47 assists Saturday at West Texas A&M. She completed her fifth and sixth double-doubles of the season, adding 15 digs at ENMU and 11 digs at WTAMU, averaging 2.9 digs per set. Marshall also provided LCU with three blocks, two kills and two aces on the week.
- LCU's right-side hitter Avery Moore had an impressive weekend, produced 11 kills in the win over ENMU and followed it with a 14-kill performance at West Texas A&M. She had a .343 attack percentage in the match and also added three blocks for a 15.5-point output against the Lady Buffs.
- Maddie DeGuire ranks third in the conference in total digs (184) and is fourth in digs per set (4.6). She led the team with 42 digs, at a rate of 21 per match and 4.7 per set over the weekend. DeGuire extended her streak of at least 20 digs to six consecutive matches with 20 digs at ENMU and 22 digs Saturday at West Texas A&M. Maddie also served up three aces at ENMU, marking her fourth game this season with at least three aces.
