LAREDO, Texas (February 4, 2020) – Lubbock Christian had their best round of the tournament on Tuesday with a 299, finishing in 11
th at the Jack Brown Memorial hosted by Texas A&M International.
The Chaps finished below 300 as a team in a round for the first time at the invite on Tuesday, besting their round one score by three strokes. They ended the tournament 41 over at 905 as a team, just one stroke behind host Texas A&M-International and 23 strokes ahead of Northwestern Oklahoma State, who finished 12
th.
Maxwell Mitchell had the final day of any LCU player, carding a 72 in his round. The score was his best of the tournament by two strokes and gave him an overall score of 223 to finish in a tie for 24
th.
Braxton Floyd finished four spots above Mitchell in a tie for 20
th, although he struggled on the second day of the tournament. Floyd carded a 77, which was five over par and his highest round of the tournament, giving him an overall score of 221.
Jeffery Maciejewski shot a 74 in the final round, just like he did in round two. The San Angelo native ended the tournament with an overall score of 229 and in a tie fo4 39
th.
Zach Burkholder and
Jake Bowen rounded out the five Chap golfers at the tournament, finishing in 46
th and 55
th, respectively. Burkholder finished out strong, shooting his best single-round score of 76 on Tuesday and finishing with a three-round score of 234. Bowen shot an 82 in the round and finished with a 242 overall.
Lubbock Christian will be back on the course on February 24-25 when they travel to the Dominion Country Club in San Antonio, Texas for the St. Mary's Invitational.
