TIPOFF
In the final regular season non-conference game of the year, Lubbock Christian University will take on the Vikings of Western Washington, a program they have never faced before. The matchup will be the second game of the south Point Holiday Hoops Classic for both teams, after the Chaps beat Rollins College 77-60 on Friday and Western Washington beat Lindendwood 60-58 thanks to a layup by Jalen Green with 11 seconds left.

FIVE THINGS TO FOCUS ON
1 | Chaparral senior forward Parker Hicks recorded his sixth double-double of the season on Friday night against the Tars, scoring a team-high 20 points and adding in 10 rebounds, all of which came on the defensive glass. He is nearly averaging a double-double for the season with 16.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, and his rebounding mark is the best in the Lone Star Conference. Friday's double-double was the 14th of his collegiate career.

2 | LCU has one of the top defenses in the country this season. They are allowing just 57.8 points per game. Opponents are shooting just 36.4 percent against them, including a measly 26.4 percent on three-pointers. Three times this season, the Chaps have held opponents under 30 percent shooting in a game. They average just 12.1 fouls per game, and have only allowed opponents to attempt 130 free throws against them which is the third-fewest in the LSC.

3 | Western Washington is a member of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and is led by head coach Tony Dominguez, who is in his ninth season leading his alma mater's program. The Vikings did not compete during the 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the 2019-2020 season, they went 20-10, winning the GNAC Tournament and earning the No. 8 seed at the NCAA West Regional before the season was cut short. So far this season, they are 6-3, including a win against No. 22 Point Loma on Nov. 26.

4 | The Chaps were a perfect 13-13 from the free throw line on Friday night, and they lead the conference in free throw shooting percentage with a mark of .818. Aamer Muhammad lead the team (minimum 10 attempts) at 89.3 percent, but three other Chaps are shooting better than 80 percent as well.

5 | Lubbock Christian is 11-0, making this the program's second-best start to a season ever. Last year, they won the first 16 games of the season before suffering their first loss.
