ODESSA, Texas (February 3, 2021) - The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals volleyball closes out a three-match road trip and a two-match road series at UT Permian Basin, as the Lady Chaps look for a series sweep over the Falcons inside UTPB Gym (Falcon Dome) in a Lone Star Conference West Division series contest.

UT Permian Basin | Tuesday, Feb. 2 | 7 p.m.
- The Lady Chaps and Falcons first squared off in 1995 and have met 45 times since, with LCU owning a 39-6 series advantage over the Falcons. UTPB had four victories come during the 2005 and 2006 seasons and swept the season series last season (LCU had won 15 consecutive matches prior to last season). LCU is 18-3 all-time in Odessa in the series. This meeting will mark their fourth LSC meeting (UTPB is 2-1 in the series with both teams being LSC members). The two programs were former Heartland Conference foes and LCU was 6-0 all-time in Heartland action against the Falcons.
- UTPB went 20-9 last season, going 11-7 in LSC play. Their 2019 season ended at the Lone Star Conference Tournament, where they fell to Angelo State. They are preseason picked seventh this season in the LSC. They went 10-4 last season at home.
- UT Permian Basin is 0-3 this season after falling twice at home against No.15 Angelo State and to the Lady Chaps Tuesday. After the completion of Tuesday's contest, UTPB will play six of the next eight matches on the road.
- UTPB ranks fifth in the LSC and 10th nationally in attacks per set, with a mark of 41.8 per set. With 16 kills Tuesday, Aquincia Strambler moved into 11th in the LSC in kills with 28 on the season (2.8 per set).
- Lanai Hurd ranks second in the LSC and 13th nationally with 5.50 digs per set.

LADY CHAP NOTES
- LCU enters the game with a 3-1 record overall and a 2-1 Lone Star Conference record. The Lady Chaps are coming off a 3-1 win over UTPB Tuesday in Odessa, in which they won despite 35 attack errors and UTPB having a better attack percentage (.129 to .063).
- The Lady Chaps rank in the top-10 in several national team categories. They entered the week ranking 10th in team digs (280), team total attacks (617) and team total blocks (27.0). Heading into Wednesday, LCU ranks second in total blocks, and they are second in team assists (166), which entered the week ranking 12th nationally.
- Jalee Sims, who has three double-doubles out of LCU's four matches, leads the LSC in total assists (134). She entered the week ranking seventh nationally. Entering Wednesday, she averages 8.9 per set, which is second in the conference (entered the week ranking 19th nationally). Tuesday she posted 35 assists and 30 digs. Going through game-by-game records on file since 2004 (detailed game-by-game statistics are incomplete in archives prior), Sims is the only Lady Chaps member to have at least 30 digs and 30 assists in the same match.
- Sims also ranks second in the LSC in digs with 65, behind conference leader and teammate Maddie DeGuire, who has 80 digs and entered the week ranking fifth nationally in the category. DeGuire averages 5.3 digs per set to rank fourth in the conference (entered the week rankings 16th nationally).
- LCU is preseason picked ninth in the Lone Star Conference preseason poll. This season marks LCU's second season as members of the Lone Star Conference. LCU was preseason picked sixth last season and finished tied for third in their division last season (5-5 in division play), taking the No.8 seed into the conference tournament. Prior to last season, LCU had been in the Heartland Conference since 2013.
- Avery Moore (45, entered the week 19th nationally) is the top kills leader in the LSC, with teammate Jenna Lyons (37,entered the week 24th nationally) ranking fourth in the conference. Moore entered the week ranking 36th nationally in kills per set and enters Wednesday 12th in the conference.
- LCU's major hurdle to overcome is their attack errors. LCU is averaging 30.5 attack errors per match this season. Last season, LCU averaged 24 per match last season and averaged 33 per match in their two losses to UTPB. Tuesday, they had a season-high 35 attack errors, but were able to overcome the high number with a victory. Surprisingly, LCU is 3-1 over the past two seasons when committing at least 35 errors.
