FRISCO, Texas (March 2, 2022) – Six members of the Lubbock Christian University men's basketball team were recognized with Lone Star Conference postseason awards, including Parker Hicks being named the league's Player of the Year for the second straight season.

Joining Hicks on the the All-LSC First Team was teammate Lloyd Daniels. Aamer Muhammad was an All-LSC Second Team selection, Rowan Mackenzie was an All-LSC Honorable Mention pick, and Aaron Gonzales was picked for the All-Freshman Team. Head coach Todd Duncan repeated as the league's Coach of the Year.

Hicks becomes the first player to win LSC Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons since UT Permian Basin's Daeshon Francis won the award in 2017 and 2018. Along with his All-Conference First Team selection, he was also named to the All-Defensive Team and the All-Academic Team. The Decatur, Texas, native leads the conference in rebounds per game (8.9) and field goal percentage (55.8), while ranking second in points per game (19.6). Six times this season Hicks has been named the LSC Defensive Player of the Week, and he claimed one Offensive Player of the Week award as well. He has 13 double-doubles on the year and set the school record for points in a single game with 50 against Texas A&M-International on Feb. 9.

Daniels' selection to the All-LSC First Team is his third straight in three seasons with the Chaps. He is on the floor more than any player in the conference, averaging 36.6 minutes per game. Shooting 53.2 percent, Daniels is averaging 16.6 points per game. He also facilitates a lot more Chap offense, averaging 4.9 assists per game. He won one LSC Offensive Player of the Week award this season. Twenty-three times this season Daniels has reached double-figures, including nine games with 20 or more points.

This was the first season ever for Muhammad to earn a spot on an All-Conference Team with his Second Team selection, although he was the league's Sixth Man of the Year last season. Moving into the starting lineup this season, Muhammad has played in 24 games, averaging 15.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. He has reached double-figures 19 times and led the Chaps in scoring nine times this season.

Mackenzie also started and played in 24 games in the 2021-22 season, averaging 11.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. He is a 53.1 percent shooter, including 43.5 percent from behind the arc. The Aussie has reached double-figures 16 times, leading the Chaps in scoring in three of those contests.

Gonzales has been solid in his inaugural collegiate campaign, coming off the bench 24 times and even starting twice for the Chaps. Shooting an incredibly efficient 56.5 percent, Gonzales averages 3.5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. He set a career-high in the Chaps' regular season finale with 11 points.

Duncan repeated as the league's Coach of the Year, leading his team to its second straight Lone Star Conference regular season title. Duncan's 2021-22 squad broke the school record for best start to a season with 20 straight wins, and they have already broke the school record for wins in a season as well. The Lubbock native recently reached a career milestone as well, winning the 200th game of his LCU career.

Lubbock Christian is the No. 1 seed for this weekend's Lone Star Conference Championship, which will be played at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. The Chaps will begin playing toward a tournament title and automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament at 6 p.m. Thursday when they take on the No. 9 seed St. Edward's.
