LUBBOCK, Texas (March 19, 2023) – The two national organizations that annually award All-America honors in women's basketball have each announced their All-America recipients for the 2022-23 women's basketball season and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association's (D2CCA) 2022-23 Woman's Basketball All-America Teams and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's 2023 WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches' All-America team each honored Lubbock Christian University's
Grace Foster with All-America honors.
Foster was one of 10 players in NCAA Division II women's basketball selected to the WBCA's All-America Team list (they honor 10 on their main list and an additional Honorable Mention list) and claimed Second Team honors by D2CCA (they do five each on a First, Second and Third Team and Honorable Mention). The sophomore from Childress, Texas is on a Lady Chaparrals squad that completed its season with a 24-11 record en route to a co-divisional title and a regional finalist completion. She led the team with 16.4 points per game (third in the Lone Star Conference) and a university single-season record 311 rebounds (leads the region and ranks 14
th nationally) en route to claiming Lone Star Conference Player of the Year and D2CCA South Central Region Player of the Year honors. The South Central Region All-Tournament Team selection also leads the region in defensive rebounds per game (7.5, 15
th nationally), free-throw percentage (.915, ranking eighth nationally and recorded as the fifth best single-season mark in program history) and is 16
th nationally in double-doubles (14).
The honor for Foster marks her as the eighth D2CCA selection and seventh WBCA All-America selection in program history (since transitioning to NCAA postseason eligibility in 2015-16). She is sixth Lady Chap to claim All-America honors from the two different organizations in the same season. LCU has had at least one All-America recipient for four consecutive seasons.
