LUBBOCK, Texas (December 13, 2024) – Lubbock Christian University will once again be represented at the U.S. Army Bowl, as LCU cheerleading head coach
Whitney Sales returns as Cheer Coordinator for the prestigious high school football showcase for a second consecutive year.
Billed as the nation's "Biggest Week in Football," The U.S. Army Bowl week will spotlight 80 of the best high school football players in the nation, highlighted with the high school all-star football game (U.S. Army Bowl) scheduled for December 21 (7 p.m.) inside Ford Center at The Star (Frisco, Texas) and televised on Stadium. The events with the game include combines, banquets, additional games (flag football, 7v7, middle school) and college commitment signings.
Personnel surrounding the U.S. Army Bowl include band members and cheerleaders chosen to the event, and Sales will oversee the cheerleading selections, along with coordinating cheer routines.
Sales joined the LCU Athletic Department prior to the 2022-23 school term after serving two seasons as the head cheer coach at Wayland Baptist. A resident of Idalou, Texas, Sales previously served as spirit director and head cheer coach at Southcrest Christian School from 2015-2019, where she also served as a golf coach. She helped lead Southcrest to a pair of All-State titles in cheer. Sales has also choreographed five UIL State Titles, two UIL State Finalists, plus multiple category wins at the UIL Spirit State Championships.
