Chaps Have Strong Showing in Austin and San Marcos

AUSTIN, Texas - The Lubbock Christian Track and Field program had five top-10 finishes at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational this weekend.

The Chaps held their own against some of the best competition in the country.

Bryce Spencer placed third in the section B men's discus at Texas Relays finishing with a final mark of 52.86 meters. Spencer also had an impressive showing in the hammer throw posting a throw of 60.74 meters to finish in 12th place. On Saturday, Spencer had another top-5 finish in the hammer throw at the Bobcat Invitational with a final mark of 63.61 meters.

George Garcia also brought home a bronze medal for the Chaps finishing third in the men's 400 meter dash at the Bobcat invitational with a time of 46.40.

Anna Salisbury had the highest finish on the weekend for LCU, placing second in the women's 400 meter dash at the Bobcat Invitational with a time of 53.58. 

Abigail Jones finished tenth in the section B women's discus finishing with a final mark of 41.27 meters.
