Senior Fires Back-To-Back Rounds in the 60s as Chaps Close with Consecutive 287s at Amarillo Country Club

AMARILLO, Texas (October 15, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University men's golf showed steady improvement across three rounds at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational, finishing 14th in a deep 16-team field hosted by West Texas A&M at Amarillo Country Club (6,937 yards | par 71). The Chaparrals carded team rounds of 301–287–287 for a total of 875 (+23), climbing the leaderboard behind strong final-round play and top-tier par-5 scoring.

Senior Maximiliano Dufey paced the Chaps, tying for 23rd individually with a three-round total of 212 (-1). After opening with a 75 (+4), Dufey found his rhythm over the final 36 holes, firing a 69 (-2) in Round 2 and a 68 (-3) in the finale — LCU's lowest individual round of the tournament. His final-round 68 was tied for the fifth-best individual score for the tournament (in the round). He ranked among the tournament's elite on both the par 5s (4.44 average, -5, tied-4th) and in total pars (39, tied for 6th) in the 89-player field.

Tres Arreola and Noel Bondesson provided steady support, finishing T-47 (218, +5) and T-59 (220, +7), respectively. Both players produced closing rounds of 72 (+1), giving LCU three players at 72 or better in the final round. Hayden Bowman followed at 226 (+13) and Hudson Reagan completed team scoring at 232 (+19), while freshman Dylan Ford (competing individually) made his collegiate debut, posting rounds of 76–74–75 for a 225 (+12) total.

As a team, LCU excelled on the long holes, finishing tied for 8th among all programs in par-5 scoring (4.80, -9) — highlighted by Dufey and Bondesson both tying for fourth individually (-5) on the par 5s. The Chaps also finished tied for eighth in total pars (166), demonstrating consistency across the board against a field that featured five nationally ranked programs.
Odessa College captured the team title with a remarkable 822 (-30), followed by UT Permian Basin (835, -17) and Dallas Baptist and Colorado Mesa (844, -8). Odessa's Ken Gao claimed medalist honors at 200 (-13).
