LUBBOCK, Texas (Oct. 24, 2025) – The Lubbock Christian men's and women's cross-country teams will compete at the Lone Star Conference Championships on Saturday at the Athletic Performance Ranch in Fort Worth, Texas.

This will be the 41
st running of the women's championship and the 43
rd running of the men's championship. The women's race, which is a 6,000-meter race, will begin at 9 a.m., and the men's race, which is an 8,000-meter race, will begin at 9:45 a.m.

Both Lubbock Christian squads competed in three regular season meets leading up to the conference championships, running in the Texas Tech Open, the Cowboy Jamboree and the NMJC Thunderbird Open.

The Lady Chaps ran a pair of 6K races and one 5K races in the regular season. They ran their best 6K time at the Cowboy Jamboree at 2:03:23.

Olivia Weider has led the team all season, posting a PR in the 6K at the Texas Tech Open with a time of 23:09.3. She is joined on the team by two other seniors –
Amy Tew and
Kylie Knapp – who both posted PRs at the Cowboy Jamboree.

The men ran their best 8K at their most recent meet in New Mexico, posting a team time of 2:11:33 as they raced to a fourth place finish.

Kaleb Gaona led the team at that meet, posting a personal best time of 25:27.2.
Samuel Bryan was the Chaps' top finisher at the Cowboy Jamboree, and they were paced by
Alfons Rawall in the season-opening meet in Lubbock.
