Noel Bondesson and sophomore
Hudson Reagan, the Lubbock Christian University men's golf team sits 14th after two rounds of the DBU Classic, posting a team score of 613 (306–307, +37) on Monday at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club (7,182 yards | par 72).
Bondesson paced the Chaparrals with rounds of 76–74 = 150 (+6), tying for 43rd place individually in a competitive 90-player field. The Sweden native improved by two strokes in the afternoon, carding a 2-over 74 that featured a composed front nine of 35 with 12 total pars.
Reagan followed closely behind, tied for 53rd (76–76 = 152, +8), providing consistency across both rounds. The Brownwood, Texas product was especially steady, ranking among the tournament leaders with 26 total pars, tied for seventh-most in the field.
Senior
Maximiliano Dufey opened with one of LCU's best rounds of the day, a 74 (+2) in the morning that included an even-par 37 on the front nine, before closing with a 79 (+7) in Round 2 to finish at 153 (+9), tied for 60th.
Redshirt senior
Tres Arreola and freshman
Dylan Ford rounded out the LCU lineup at 159 (+15). Arreola carded rounds of 80–79, highlighted by an even-par 36 on his final nine holes Monday afternoon. Ford, competing in the starting lineup for the first time this season, rebounded from an opening 81 with a 78 (+6) in Round 2 that featured a birdie and a composed finish down the stretch.
Freshman
Jake Collard, making his collegiate debut as an individual, posted rounds of 80–85 = 165 (+21).
As a team, the Chaparrals continued to show improvement in key areas of play. LCU tied for sixth in total pars (114) — matching Henderson State and UT Dallas — and displayed strong balance on the par-4s (4.39 average, +58) while holding steady in the middle of the pack for par-5 scoring (5.00 average, +8).
Central Oklahoma leads the 16-team field after two rounds at 569 (−7), paced by Bryant Polhill (141, −3) and Baylor Bostick (143, −1). St. Mary's (TX) and Southern Arkansas are tied for second at 571 (−5), while DBU (A) sits fourth at 579 (+3) and Midwestern State rounds out the top five at 585 (+9). Individually, TCU's Lewis Wright holds the overall lead at 136 (−8), followed by St. Mary's Kongpop Kaikaew (138, −6) and Southern Arkansas' Luke Cote (140, −4).
The DBU Classic, which resumes with the final round Tuesday, marks the final event of LCU's 2024–25 fall schedule, with the Chaps set to resume play in February to begin their spring slate.
