Lady Chaps Rally Past Rattlers to Extend Win Streak to Seven

Career Night From Jade Workman Fuels LCU’s Best Conference Start Since 2021

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (October 3, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University rallied after dropping the opening set to take down St. Mary's 3-1 (15-25, 25-18, 25-10, 25-23) Friday night at Bill Greehey Arena. The victory extended the Lady Chaps' win streak to seven matches and lifted them to 11-4 overall and 3-0 in Lone Star Conference play, their best league start since 2021.
 
LCU's offense was paced by Jade Workman, who turned in a career night with 14 kills on a blistering .571 hitting percentage, the program's best since 2024 and the 12th-highest single-match efficiency in the rally-scoring era (since 2008). Camryn Blair added 13 kills, Lily Bickley tallied 11, and Emilee Sikora contributed 10, giving the Lady Chaps four players in double figures. Setter Camdyn Sears registered her eighth double-double with 46 assists and 10 digs, while Abby Dominguez controlled the back row with 21 digs. Ramsey Clark posted a career-best 16 digs, and transfer Kyla Farnan chipped in a season-high eight.
 
St. Mary's (5-9, 2-2 LSC) was led by Laurene Robinson and Landri Withers, who each had eight kills. Dallasstar Johnson added five kills and four blocks, while libero Alyssa Koehl posted a team-high 18 digs.
 
Game Notes
» Workman posted a Lady Chaps season high attack percentage of .571 behind a season-high 14 kills, which is the highest single-match high attack percentage since Schweer hit .750 on Oct. 16, 2024. Workman's mark is the 12th-highest mark since 2008, which is when the current rally-scoring format started, in program history.

» LCU's seven-match win streak is its best since opening 2023 with seven straight.

» The Lady Chaps' 11-4 start is their best through 15 matches since 2014 (13-2).

» Sears recorded her eighth double-double (46 assists, 10 digs).

» Dominguez had her fifth 20+ dig performance of 2025 (21 digs).

» Clark notched a career-high 16 digs.

» Farnan, a St. Michaels College transfer, tallied a season-best eight digs.

» Bickley had 11 kills marked her ninth double-figure outing this season and 49th of her career. She is 26 kills away from 1,000 career assists.

» Blair registered 13 kills, which marked her third double-digit tally in kills this season and fourth in her career.
 
» Sikora logged her eighth double-figure kill match of the season, as she posted 10 kills.

» LCU moved to 13-17 all-time vs. St. Mary's and 6-4 all-time in San Antonio.

» The Lady Chaps improved to 3-1 on the road this season with three straight road wins.

SET 1 | StMU 25, LCU 15
The opening set between the Lady Chaparrals and StMU saw the Rattlers take an early lead, capitalizing on a series of LCU errors. St. Mary's surged ahead to a 4-0 advantage, with Kelly Swyers contributing a kill and Landry Cate adding another point from the front line. The Chaps managed to close the gap to 6-5, with Sikora notching two kills. However, the Rattlers extended their lead to 12-6, supported by a consecutive aces from Dallasstar Johnson. StMU maintained their lead throughout the set, with Withers and Robinson adding crucial points. The set concluded with Cate delivering two consecutive points, including a service ace, to secure a 25-15 win for StMU. Sikora and Workman co-led LCU in the set with three kills each.
 
SET 2 | LCU 25, StMU 18
The Lady Chaps took control early in the second set against the Rattlers, opening with a 5-2 lead thanks to two kills by Workman and a block by Schweer and Blair. StMU responded with a steady performance, tying the score at 5-5 with strong play from Robinson and Swyers. However, the Lady Chaps regained momentum with a 3-0 run, highlighted by a Sears kill and consecutive attack errors from the opposition. The visiting team maintained their advantage down the stretch, with Bickley and Schweer contributing crucial kills to extend the lead to 24-18. Schweer then sealed the set at 25-18 with back-to-back kills from assists by Sears (had 12 assists in the set). Six Lady Chaps had multiple kills in the frame.
 
SET 3 | LCU 25, StMU 15
Lubbock Christian dominated the third set against the Rattlers, concluding with a decisive 25-10 victory, which closed on a 13-1 LCU run. Workman initiated the set with a kill, setting the tone for LCU. Despite an early tie at 3-3, the Chaparrals surged ahead with a series of points, including a crucial block by Sikora and Bickley. Sikora played a pivotal role, delivering a team-best five kills and capitalizing on StMU's attack errors. The Lady Chaps strong offensive performance and effective blocking (four team blocks) were key in securing the set win. LCU hit .375 in the frame.
 
SET 4 | LCU 25, StMU 23
In a tightly contested fourth set, LCU secured a 25-23 victory over StMU, closing the match with two consecutive kills by Workman, both assisted by Sears. Early in the set, both teams exchanged leads, with Blair contributing crucial kills to keep the Chaparrals competitive. A service ace by Withers for the Rattlers tied the score at 23-23 (12th time the score was tied in the set), intensifying the final moments. Sears distributed 15 assists in the set and Blair posted seven kills in the set.
 
What's Next
The Lady Chaps head to Austin, Texas Saturday and face St. Edward's at 2 p.m. The three prior meetings have resulted in five-set wins for LCU.
