LADY CHAP NOTES
» Lubbock Christian University volleyball (20–5, 11–1 LSC) had its 15-match win streak snapped Tuesday in a five-set battle at No. 14 West Texas A&M, marking its first Lone Star Conference loss of the season (The streak was LCU's longest since 2008 and ranked fifth-longest active in NCAA Division II entering the match). They bounced back in dramatic fashion Friday with a 3-2 win over Texas Woman's behind 125 digs (tied as the second-most for LCU in the current rally scoring format and is the highest total in the LSC this season). The win marked LCU's seventh straight home win and bumps their record to 8-2 at home his season. A victory Saturday not only shoes them in as one of eight teams battling for a Lone Star Conference Championships (tournament) berth, but would give them 21 regular season wins for the first time since a 21-win 2018 season.

» LCU continues to set the offensive standard in the Lone Star Conference, leading the league in both kills per set (13.9) and assists per set (13.3)—ranking No. 21 and No. 14 nationally, respectively. The Lady Chaps also lead the LSC and rank No. 10 nationally in digs per set (19.1) and remain one of the nation's most efficient attacks with a .220 hitting percentage (6th LSC, 70th nationally).

» Statistically dominant across the board, LCU leads the LSC in total kills (1,337 – No. 3 nationally), assists (1,273 – No. 2 nationally), digs (1,830 – No. 3 nationally), and total attacks (3,805 – No. 8 nationally). The Lady Chaps also rank 4th in the LSC and 58th nationally in opponent hitting percentage (.155) and 5th in the LSC, 47th nationally in total blocks (182.5).

» Freshman setter Camdyn Sears continues to produce one of the top debut seasons in NCAA Division II. She leads the LSC and ranks No. 22 nationally in assists per set (10.43), while standing No. 5 nationally in total assists (980). Sears' 62-assist, 11-dig performance at UT Dallas tied the program record for a four-set match and remains tied for the highest four-set total in Division II this season. She owns 17 double-doubles (eight straight entering Saturday) and has directed an offense that leads the LSC in both assists and kills per set.

» Senior middle blocker Lily Bickley delivered a standout 19-kill (.447) performance Tuesday at West Texas A&M—her season high—highlighting her place among the LSC's elite front-line performers. She ranks 5th in the LSC (No. 66 nationally) in hitting percentage (.333) and 8th in total blocks (74) while averaging 2.94 kills per set (16th LSC) and 3.48 points per set (12th LSC). Bickley owns 16 double-figure kill matches this season and earned LSC Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 21) after hitting .410 with 28 kills and 10 blocks.

» Libero Abby Dominguez anchors one of the nation's top back-row defenses. She leads the LSC and ranks No. 10 nationally in digs per set (4.93) and No. 11 nationally in total digs (473). Dominguez has posted 11 20+ dig matches this season and leads a defense that ranks No. 10 nationally in digs per set and No. 3 nationally in total digs.

» Middle blocker Bryleigh Schweer provides balance and toughness at the net, ranking 9th in the LSC in hitting percentage (.296) and 6th in total blocks (82). She's averaging 2.12 kills and 0.95 blocks per set (6th in LSC), highlighted by a career-best 19-point performance (15 kills, six blocks, ace) at UT Dallas that tied for the team lead in scoring that match.

» Following last week's road wins at Texas A&M International and Texas A&M–Kingsville, Camdyn Sears was named Lone Star Conference Setter of the Week and Emilee Sikora earned Offensive Player of the Week recognition—marking the second straight week multiple Lady Chaps have claimed LSC weekly awards. The previous week, Sears became the first player in LSC history to earn both Setter of the Week and Freshman of the Week in the same week, while Lily Bickley was tabbed Offensive Player of the Week after leading LCU to a pair of home victories.

LOOKING AT DBU
- The Lady Chaps hold a staggering 38-7 all-time record against the Patriots. LCU opened the all-time series winning the first 23 meetings dating back to 1983. DBU ended a sequence of six consecutive LCU wins in 2022 (Sept. 23, 2022) and has won the prior three meetings, which includes their last two trips to Lubbock (won 3-2 over LCU last season on Nov. 16, 2024). Last season's visit to DBU has only visited Lubbock twice since 2019 (2-17 all-time in Lubbock against LCU).

- Dallas Baptist has hit a midseason skid after a strong start, entering the weekend 11-9 overall and 5-7 in Lone Star Conference play. The Patriots, who opened 7-1 and swept three matches in New York, have dropped five straight heading after Friday's 3-1 loss at Midwestern State. DBU has shown balance with a 5-4 home mark and a 3-5 record on the road, but inconsistency has followed them through league play.

- Junior outside hitter Karly Wells has been among the nation's elite, ranking No. 2 nationally and No. 1 in the LSC with 4.75 kills per set while producing 5.32 points per set. She also ranks No. 25 nationally in total attacks (972) and No. 18 in total kills (361), driving a Patriot offense that stands 7th in the LSC in hitting percentage (.209) and 7th in kills per set (12.8) entering the weekend.

- DBU averages 1.9 blocks per set, ranking 6th in the LSC and 85th nationally, anchored by freshman Aizlyn Dewberry at 0.88 per set (6th in LSC). Middle blockers Kalin Hubbard and Madison Clark also provide length at the net, helping limit opponents to a .186 hitting percentage, the 6th-best mark in the conference.

- The Patriots are No. 1 in the Lone Star Conference and No. 65 nationally with 1.68 aces per set, paced by freshman Lauren Witte (0.37 per set, 11th in LSC). Combined with freshman setter Paityn Winters (5.18 assists per set), DBU's young core fuels both ends of the serve-pass game, complementing a defense that averages 16.12 digs per set behind libero Blue Anderson (3.91 per set).
