Lubbock Christian University Director of Athletics
Andrew Sorrells announced that Head Volleyball Coach Keith Giboney has resigned his position, concluding five seasons leading the Lady Chaps program. His wife, Michal Giboney, who has served as assistant coach, will also depart the program.
Giboney recently completed his 21st season as a collegiate head coach and his fifth year at LCU, where he guided the Lady Chaps to an 86–55 record, including 53–28 in Lone Star Conference play. This past fall, LCU earned a share of the 2025 Lone Star Conference regular-season championship, marking the program's first conference title since 2009 and first since joining the LSC. The Lady Chaps also advanced to the NCAA Division II South Central Regional for the first time in school history and finished the season 25–8, with Giboney being named LSC Coach of the Year.
Both Keith and Michal are alumni of Lubbock Christian University, and Michal is a former Lady Chaps volleyball student-athlete.
"We are grateful for Keith and Michal's commitment to Lubbock Christian University and our volleyball program," Sorrells said. "We wish them the very best in the future and thank them for their many contributions to LCU."
A national search for the next head volleyball coach will begin immediately. Until a new head coach is named, the program will continue preparations for the upcoming season under athletic department direction.
