How It Happened
SET 1 | LCU 25, TWU 18
LCU jumped ahead early with a balanced, fast-paced offense, as
Payton Murray delivered four quick kills and
Lily Bickley added three more to establish control. A 7–1 run fueled by
Kyla Farnan's serving and strong transition play created the first major cushion, as LCU built a 9-4 lead early. A 4-2 run with a pair of kills from Murray helped extend the lead to 14-9. Benedite Anuman had a kill to help TWU cut the deficit in the set to 16-15, but Farnan returned to the serving line, which was part of a 9-2 LCU surge for a 25-18 set win. Murray led LCU with four kills in the frame.
SET 2 | LCU 25, TWU 16
A pair of kills from
Emilee Sikora sparked a 7-3 advantage to open the second set. Murray joined Sikora on an additional run, as each had a pair of kills in a 5-1 rally to extend the Lady Chaps lead to 13-7. TWU cut their deficit to 10-7 before LCU relied on
Kyla Farnan and
Ramsey Clark to serve through a 7-1 LCU run filled with kills from five different Lady Chaps for a 21-11 lead. Murray had a kill to seal the set 25-16. Sikora had six of her match-high 12 kills in the set.
SET 3 | LCU 25, TWU 18
Lubbock Christian capitalized on a series of attack errors by Texas Woman's to take a commanding lead early in the third set.
Olivia Elofsson's serve was instrumental, as it led to multiple errors by the opposition, pushing the Lady Chaps ahead 7-1. Sikora contributed key kills, extending the advantage further. TWU attempted a comeback with Tori Woods recording consecutive kills to narrow the gap to 10-7. However, Lubbock Christian maintained their momentum, with
Ramsey Clark delivering back-to-back service aces to make it 18-12. Workman sealed the set for the Chaps with a kill, concluding the set 25-18. Sikora (5) and Workman (4) combined for nine of LCU's 12 kills in the frame.
