SAN ANTONIO, Texas (February 18, 2025) – Lubbock Christian completed their first tournament of the Spring season with an eighth-place team finish at the Rattler Invitational. The Chaparrals carded a +28 892 over three rounds of play, notching their second consecutive top ten team finish. In addition, the team scored 5 eagles, which led the entire tournament field.
Hayden Bowman secured his third top-team finish after leading the Chaparrals across both days of competition. Individually, Bowman ranked tied for 19th, with a score of 221 and five-over-par. Across the tournament, he sank nine birdies and an eagle, which was tied for second most on the team.
Coming in second for the Chaparrals was Richman Houston, who totaled a +7 223 in the tournament. He finished the last day of play with an even-par score, improving seven strokes from the first two rounds. Furthermore, this strong final round was highlighted by five birdies, tied for most of the day from Lubbock Christian. Overall, Houston tied for 26th place.
Maximiliano Dufey had the best scoring day of any Chaparral, scoring a two-under-par 70 in the final round of play to vault him into third in the team standings. He sank five birdies and an eagle to lead the team and bolster an impressive round three. Dufey finished his first action as a Chaparral with a score of 224 and eight-over-par in a tie for 31st place.
Bryce McCracken rounded out the four Chaparrals who contributed to team scoring, ending his appearance with a +10 226 score. Along with Dufey, McCracken drained five birdies and an eagle in his best scoring round of the tournament. His strong final day slotted him in a tie for 40th place overall. Hudson Reagan was the final Lubbock Christian competitor, with a final card of 232 and 16-over-par. While not being counted toward team scoring, Reagan finished in a tie for 65th as an individual.
Lubbock Christian will look to build upon their best team finish of the season when they continue their Spring schedule. The Chaparrals will head westward to the Golden State for their next tournament, Battle in the Desert hosted by Cal State – San Bernardino on February 24 and 25.
