RIVERSIDE, Calif. (May 11, 2025) -- Hayden Bowman finished his individual appearance at the NCAA West / South Central Regional Championships with the best scorecard in program history. He carded a three-round total of 213 and three-under-par, with scores of 76, 67 and 70 in each round.
Bowman began his regional bid on Thursday, as he went four-over-par through the first 18 holes at Victoria Club. His opening round was highlighted by three birdies, two of which came on the back nine holes. He was electric in round 2 Friday, draining seven birdies in route to a staggering five-under-par round. Bowman's score was tied for the third best of the round and was the fourth lowest round total of the entire tournament. He wrapped up the tournament with another under-par round, as he turned in a –2 70 across the final 18 holes Saturday.
As a result of his late round surges, Bowman became the only Lubbock Christian regional participant to have an under-par final score. In addition, his five-under-par performance in round 2 was the greatest scoring round in Chaparral regional history. Despite a valiant effort, Bowman fell shy of a coveted individual selection to the NCAA DII Men's Golf Championships, as Colorado State – Pueblo's Agustin Pizzorno and Sonoma State's Cambron Nevill grabbed the two slots following nine-under-par outings. Bowman will return to Lubbock Christian for his senior season and will look to lead the Chaparrals after a historic regional debut.
