Lubbock Christian Sits Ninth After Two Rounds At Shootout In Riviera Maya

AKUMAL, Mexico (September 29, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University's men's golf team slipped two spots Monday but remains in the mix heading into Tuesday's final round of the Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya. The Chaparrals carded a team score of 310 (+22) in Round 2 at Tulum Country Club (6,980 yards | par 72), bringing their two-day total to 616 (+40) for ninth place in the 15-team field. UT Tyler (598) and West Texas A&M (599) continue to pace the leaderboard.
 
Senior Hayden Bowman led the way for LCU with a bounce-back 74 (+2), climbing into a tie for 22nd overall at 154. Bowman was red-hot early, opening with a trio of birdies over his first five holes. He turned at 33 (-3). His four birdies on the day led the team lead and moved him into a share of ninth (in the field) in birdies.
 
Maximiliano Dufey, who entered the round inside the top 10, endured a tough stretch on the front nine but steadied himself to post an 80 (+8). He sits tied for 22nd at 154 through 36 holes. Despite the score, Dufey still ranks among the tournament's leaders in pars (tied for 12th).
 
Freshman Hudson Reagan matched Noel Bondesson with a 78 (+6) to remain in the top 25 individually. Reagan's round was marked by consistency, shooting -1 through the first six holes, and shot 36 on the front nine.
 
Noel Bondesson matched Reagan at 78 (+6) and is tied for 38th overall at 156. Bondesson has been steady across both rounds, ranking among LCU's best on par-3 scoring (3.13, +1, tied for 10th) and par-5 shooting (5.00, E, tied for 12th).
 
Rounding out the lineup, Tres Arreola battled through a difficult round and signed for an 84 (+12). Despite the struggles, Arreola has contributed four birdies across his first two days, including one at holes 4 and 10.
 
Through two rounds, the Chaps rank tied for second in the field with 20 total birdies, showing their ability to score despite tough conditions. Statistically, LCU continues to shine on par-5s, averaging 5.13 (+5), and they rank sixth overall in pars (105). Their struggles have come on the par-3s, where the team is tied for 13th in scoring average (3.50, +20).
