LUBBOCK, Texas (January, 24, 2026) – Staying close to home for a second straight weekend to start the season, Lubbock Christian University's men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Stan Scott Invite hosted by Texas Tech this weekend.

LCU got strong performances from both the men's and women's 4X400 relay teams, as both squads posted improved times.

The Lady Chap foursome of
Joy Egwu,
Kerrigan Huynh,
Elizabeth Florez and
Jozlyn Arana had the fifth-best time at the entire meet. They completed the race in a blistering time of 3:45.52, placing only behind Division II teams from Ohio State, UCF and USC. They even bested teams from Texas Tech, UTEP and Minnesota.

The Chaps also bested several Division I squads while posting a season-best time of 3:10.34. LCU's team of
Daniel Sianez, Jaqualand Fields,
Reuel Campbell and
Chris Moffett placed sixth overall, placing ahead of Texas Tech and UTEP.

Elsewhere on the women's side, a pair of freshman recorded podium finishes in the 800-meter.
Isabella Jaime placed second with a time of 2:21.13, and
Lily Rodriguez came in right behind her with a time of 2:21.56.

Another podium finish came from
Olivia Weider in the 3000-meter. She placed third with a time of 10:29.17.

Individually for the men, two Chaps placed top ten in the 400-meter. Campbell took sixth place. His time of 47.76, improving on his time from the first meet of the year. Sianez placed eighth with a time of 47.87.

Matthew Gordon was LCU's top finisher in the 800-meter, placing seventh with a time of 1:55.58. And in the 3000-meter, Alfons Rawal placed fifth with a time of 8:50.84.

Lubbock Christian was supposed to send other athletes to Albuquerque, N.M. and the MLK Jr. Invite, but the inclement winter weather canceled the trip. The Chaps and Lady Chaps plan to visit New Mexico again next weekend to compete at the New Mexico Team Open on Jan. 30-31.
