BACK THEN, IN TYLER
No. 15 Lubbock Christian saw its second-half offense go cold in their prior game (back on Jan. 22), as UT Tyler pulled away for a 55–45 Lone Star Conference victory at Herrington Patriot Center.

LCU carried a 27–25 lead into halftime after holding the Patriots to just four points in the second quarter, but UT Tyler (13–6, 9–1 LSC) seized control after the break. The Patriots outscored the Lady Chaps 30–18 in the second half, limiting LCU to a season-low 45 points.

After trading early momentum, UT Tyler closed the first quarter on an 8–2 run to lead 21–16. Lubbock Christian responded with strong defensive pressure in the second quarter, holding UT Tyler to 2-of-14 shooting to reclaim the lead at halftime.

The Patriots regained the edge in a back-and-forth third quarter and pulled away in the fourth, as LCU endured a 10:26 stretch without a made field goal and shot just 2-of-15 in the final period.

Freshman Meg Meekins led LCU with 14 points, knocking down four three-pointers for her fifth game this season with at least four made triples. Kennedy Chappell added eight points and a team-high nine rebounds, while Tia Johnson finished with 11 points.

UT Tyler was led by Leila Davis' 25-point, 11-rebound double-double. The loss dropped LCU to 9–2 this season when leading at halftime.

CHAP-TIVATING STATS: 5 LADY CHAP FACTS
1 > Firmly in the LSC Title Picture
Lubbock Christian sits at 15–4 overall and 7–3 in Lone Star Conference play, holding fifth place as the league enters its decisive stretch. The Lady Chaps trail unbeaten West Texas A&M and Texas Woman's (11–0) by three games, while remaining within one game of UT Tyler (9–2) and Eastern New Mexico (8–3). LCU owns wins against multiple teams in the league's top half and continues to position itself among the LSC's postseason contenders with a .700 conference winning percentage and a 78.9 overall winning percentage. To make the small climb in the conference, LCU has to breakaway from their minor stretch of inconsistencies, as they are 4-4 in their last eight games played and have not won consecutive games in the 2026 calendar year.

2 > One of Division II's Best Perimeter Attacks
LCU ranks sixth nationally and first in the LSC in three-point percentage at 37.1%, while also sitting 36th nationally in made threes per game (7.7). The Lady Chaps pair efficiency with volume, ranking in the top half nationally in three-point attempts per game (20.7), giving them one of Division II's most reliable perimeter identities.

3 > Kennedy Chappell Sets the Pace
Kennedy Chappell continues to serve as LCU's statistical engine, ranking first in the LSC in total points (311), assists (74), free throws made (88), and free-throw attempts (118). She is averaging 16.4 points, 3.9 assists, and 5.8 rebounds per game, while shooting 53.3% from the field, placing her among the league's most efficient high-usage players.

4 > Efficiency Still Defines the Formula
Despite recent offensive fluctuations, LCU remains strong in efficiency metrics, ranking 26th nationally in field-goal percentage (44.0%), 15th nationally in fewest turnovers per game (13.4), and 39th nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.01). Defensively, the Lady Chaps sit 57th nationally in scoring defense (59.5 ppg), underscoring a balanced profile on both ends.

5 > Balance Beyond the Box Score
LCU features multiple consistent contributors, led by Meg Meekins (14.7 ppg), who ranks 17th nationally and first in the LSC in three-point percentage (40.6%). Martie McCoy leads the conference and ranks fourth nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.88), while four Lady Chaps average 6.5+ points per game, reinforcing a rotation built on ball security, and shared responsibility.

SWEET HOME (ON) CHICAGO
Lubbock Christian, which went a perfect 13–0 at home during the 2024–25 season, is 5–1 inside Rip Griffin Center midway through the 2025–26 campaign, with its lone setback coming against No. 7 West Texas A&M on Jan. 15. The Lady Chaps have continued to defend their home floor effectively, averaging 70.5 points per game while holding opponents to 60.2, producing a +10.3 scoring margin across six contests.

Meg Meekins has been LCU's most productive scorer at home, averaging 17.7 points per game while shooting 48.2% from the field and 45.5% from three-point range (15-of-33). Kennedy Chappell has been equally steady, posting 17.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game at home while shooting 53.6% from the floor and nearly 80% at the free-throw line. Martie McCoy has added balance to the lineup, averaging 10.7 points and 5.8 rebounds, while shooting 53.8% from three-point range in home action.

As a team, LCU is shooting 45.1% from the field and an impressive 42.0% from beyond the arc at Rip Griffin Center. The Lady Chaps are also winning the turnover battle at home, committing just 12.5 turnovers per game while forcing 14.2, resulting in a +1.7 turnover margin and a 1.0 assist-to-turnover ratio.

LCU has reached at least 65 points in four of six home games, highlighted by conference victories over Angelo State and Eastern New Mexico. The loss to West Texas A&M snapped a 22-game home winning streak, marking the Lady Chaps' first defeat at Rip Griffin Center since January 27, 2024, but LCU remains one of the Lone Star Conference's most reliable home-court teams entering the second half of league play.

Through 10 LSC games, the Lady Chaps are averaging 65.4 points per game while limiting opponents to 58.8, underscoring a defense-first identity that has kept LCU competitive against the league's top half. Meg Meekins has provided consistent perimeter scoring, averaging 14.2 points and 5.2 rebounds, while knocking down 14 three-pointers in conference play. EYE-OPENING
The 2025-26 season marks LCU's 13th since leaving the NAIA and LCU is 334-66 record (83.5%) in that span, as LCU's prior game (in Tyler) marked LCU's 400th game as NCAA official members. In NCAA postseason play, the Lady Chaps are 27-5 all-time (78.1%). At home, LCU is 163-9 (94.8%) since the start of the 2015-16 season (NCAA era).

NATIONALLY KNOWN
Prior to this season, national rankings were conducted by WBCA and D2CSC in NCAA Division II women's basketball, but a decision was made to discontinue D2CSC top-25 polls in all sports, so the WBCA is the lone national poll available for NCAA Division II women's basketball. LCU, who closed last season ranked No.7 in the final WBCA Coaches Poll, opened this season at No.13 in the WBCA Preseason Coaches Poll. They are currently ranked No.23 nationally in the poll, dropping from No.15 in the prior poll. Against nationally ranked foes, LCU is 0-1 this season, as their Jan. 15 game against No.7 West Texas A&M marked their first meeting of the season against a nationally ranked program.

FIVE FACTS ABOUT CU
1 > Cameron enters Saturday looking to snap a two-game skid, sitting 2–17 overall and 2–9 in Lone Star Conference play, placing the Aggies 15th in the LSC standings. Cameron has faced one of the league's most challenging schedules to date and has been competitive in recent outings, including a five-point loss to Midwestern State in its most recent game. The Aggies remain in search of their first home win of the season (0–8 at home) but have collected both conference victories on the road. Despite the record, Cameron has shown the ability to score in bunches and push tempo, particularly when its perimeter shooting is clicking.

2 > Statistically, Cameron's identity centers on perimeter volume and pace. The Aggies lead the Lone Star Conference in three-pointers per game (8.0) and rank first nationally in three-point attempts per game (25.2), but rebounding and efficiency remain challenges. Cameron ranks 15th in the LSC in rebound margin (-7.4) and 14th in scoring defense (75.3 ppg allowed), while turnovers have also impacted results (19.5 per game). When Cameron controls tempo and connects from deep, however, it has shown the ability to stay competitive deep into games.

3 >
Sophomore forward Madison Griggs has established herself as one of the Lone Star Conference's most prolific scorers. Griggs ranks first in the LSC in scoring (18.8 ppg) and sits among the conference leaders in field goals made and attempts, while averaging 34.3 minutes per game. She has scored in double figures in every game she has played and continues to be Cameron's primary offensive option, capable of creating off the dribble and stretching defenses from beyond the arc (33 made three-pointers). She posted 21 points against LCU in the prior meeting, but has not seen action in the three previously played games.

4 >
Senior Kloe Heidebrecht provides Cameron with elite perimeter shooting and remains one of the most dangerous three-point threats in Division II. Heidebrecht leads the LSC in three-pointers made (59) and three-pointers per game (3.28) while ranking among the conference's top shooters from deep (36.4%). She is averaging 12.6 points and 4.4 rebounds per game and is coming off a career night against Midwestern State, where she poured in 28 points to keep the Aggies within striking distance late.

5 >
Freshman guard Emmary Elizondo directs Cameron's offense and logs heavy minutes in the backcourt. Elizondo averages 31.5 minutes per game, contributes 5.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest, and ranks among the team leaders in assists and steals. Her ability to handle the ball under pressure and generate transition opportunities has been key for Cameron, while Amina Diallo has added a spark off the bench, averaging 7.2 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting nearly 40% from the field.

THE SERIES AGAINST CU
After facing Cameron twice a season for four consecutive seasons, LCU and Cameron only faced each other once last season, with LCU winning 77-52 in Lubbock (Jan. 25). They are back to two meetings this season and LCU extended their win streak in the series to 11 straight Dec. 13, 2025 with a 61-45 win in Lawton. The head-to-head series between LCU and Cameron dates back to 1985 and LCU has a 13-9 edge through 22 all-time meetings. Since joining the LSC, LCU is 11-0 against Cameron. LCU is 7-3 all-time against Cameron in Lubbock.

PRIOR MEETING VS. CU
LAWTON, Okla. (Dec. 13, 2025) – LCU 61 – CU 45
Lubbock Christian University leaned on defense, depth and timely shot-making to secure a 61–45 road win over Cameron, completing its first weekend of Lone Star Conference play with authority.

After falling behind by as many as nine points early, the Lady Chaps seized control with a decisive 22–2 run that spanned the first and second quarters. That surge included a 16–0 stretch and fueled a dominant second period in which Cameron failed to score a field goal. LCU outscored the Aggies 17–4 in the quarter, forced repeated empty possessions, and built a halftime lead it would not relinquish. For the game, LCU limited Cameron to 29.6 percent shooting, forced 14 turnovers, and held a 13–9 edge in points off turnovers while extending its road winning streak to 14 games dating back to last season.

Freshman Meg Meekins led the way with 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. She set the tone early with eight first-quarter points, added six rebounds, and posted a game-best plus-minus. Martie McCoy followed with 14 points while drawing nine fouls and knocking down two three-pointers, and Kennedy Chappell delivered an all-around effort with 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals.

LCU continued to build separation in the second half, pushing the lead to as many as 23 points in the fourth quarter while showcasing its depth. The Lady Chaps finished the game shooting 46.7 percent from three-point range and outscored Cameron 11–0 in bench points.

The win marked LCU's 11th straight victory in the series and reinforced the Lady Chaps' consistency away from home, as they improved to 4–0 in road games this season.
