LADY CHAP NOTES
- LCU continues its final homestand of the season Saturday against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Senior Day after snapping a three-match losing streak in historic fashion Friday. Camdyn Sears recorded the program's first triple-double in 36 years as the Lady Chaparrals swept Texas A&M International 3-0 (25-22, 25-12, 25-14). LCU improved to 9-11 overall and 5-5 in Lone Star Conference play and sits 11th in the league standings entering Saturday. The Lady Chaps will close the home portion of their schedule Tuesday against West Texas A&M on Pink Out Night as part of the Rivalry on the Range series.

- Sears produced 15 digs, 13 assists and a career-high 11 kills against TAMIU for the first triple-double of her career and LCU's first since Marla Lowery had 27 digs, 13 kills and 10 blocks against Houston Christian (then known as Houston Baptist) on Oct. 5, 1990. Sears hit .526 and also contributed an ace and a block. The performance was her 10th double-double of the season and 33rd of her LCU career (and first triple-double), while the 11 kills marked her first collegiate double-figure kill performance.

- LCU utilized a 5-2 offense against Texas A&M International, allowing Sears to take on a larger attacking role while freshman Lauren Hanson supplied a career-high 14 assists. Sears now has 544 assists, 197 digs and 66 kills this season while hitting .306. She averages 8.37 assists and 3.03 digs per set overall and is hitting .388 in conference play with 40 kills.

- Saturday is Senior Day for Tatum Fleitman, Ramsey Clark, Kyla Farnan and Camryn Blair, while student-assistant coach Drea Laughlin will also be recognized. Clark is the longest-tenured member of the group, appearing in 105 matches and 363 sets over four seasons at LCU while compiling 854 digs and 71 service aces. Fleitman has also spent four seasons with the Lady Chaps, totaling 238 kills and 76 blocks across 57 matches and 161 sets, including a career-high eight blocks against St. Edward's earlier this season. Blair has developed into LCU's leading attacker this season and owns 369 career kills and 406.5 points in 55 matches, with her career-high 18 kills coming twice, including against UT Dallas on Oct. 10. Farnan, who transferred to LCU after two seasons at Saint Michael's, has accumulated 937 digs and 106 service aces in 90 collegiate matches, including 216 digs and 32 aces during her two seasons as a Lady Chap. Laughlin, a Lubbock native and Frenship High School graduate, played collegiate beach volleyball at Louisiana Monroe before transferring home and appearing with LCU last season; she now serves as a student-assistant coach.

-  Freshman Shaylee Stevens has provided a major spark over the last two matches. Stevens followed a then-career-high eight kills against UT Dallas with a new career-high nine kills against Texas A&M International, giving her 17 kills over the two-match stretch. She committed no attack errors on 11 attempts Friday for an .818 hitting percentage, the best single-match percentage in the LSC this season among players with 10-14 attempts.

- LCU's serving game was again a major factor Friday, as the Lady Chaps registered 10 aces for their third three-set match this season with double-digit aces. Ramsey Clark led the way with three, while Leigh Jespersen and Kyla Farnan added two apiece. LCU now has 113 aces compared with 96 by opponents overall and owns a 66-41 advantage in service aces through 10 conference matches.

Friday's victory also ended a three-match home losing streak and moved LCU back to .500 at home at 3-3.

- LCU's offense has been more productive in conference play than its overall season numbers indicate. Through 10 LSC matches, the Lady Chaps are hitting .216 while holding opponents to .200. LCU averages 12.61 kills, 11.18 assists, 15.85 digs and 2.00 aces per set in league play. The Lady Chaps have also committed 26 fewer attack errors than their LSC opponents, 153-179.

In conference play, she is hitting .304 with 68 kills and 34 blocks, averaging 1.03 blocks per set against LSC opponents.

- LCU enters Saturday having played 15 of its 20 matches in straight sets, posting a 7-8 record in 3-0 decisions. Friday's sweep was the Lady Chaps' first victory since their 3-0 win at Cameron on Oct. 2 and their first home victory since sweeping St. Edward's on Sept. 26. LCU is now 5-5 in conference play with eight league matches remaining after Saturday.
