SAN ANTONIO, Texas (February 16, 2026) — Lubbock Christian opened the spring portion of its 2025-26 schedule Monday with 36 holes at the Rattler Invitational, hosted by St. Mary's at The Dominion Country Club, positioning itself in the middle of a tightly packed leaderboard heading into Tuesday's final round.
The Chaparrals were paced by sophomore
Hudson Reagan, who matched his season-low round with a 1-under 71 in the opening round — one stroke shy of his collegiate best — before carding an 80 in the afternoon session to sit at 7-over 151 through two rounds. Reagan's morning round featured a steady outward 36 and a 35 on the inward nine, highlighted by an eagle that helped LCU tie for the tournament lead in that category with three.
Noel Bondesson provided the team's most consistent day, rebounding from a 77 in Round 1 to fire a 1-under 71 in the second round. The junior moved into a tie for 23rd place at 4-over 148 entering the final 18 holes and was one of 10 players in the field to record an eagle through 36 holes.
Maximiliano Dufey also stood at 4-over 148 after rounds of 73 and 75, placing him in a tie for 23rd. Dufey tied for fifth in the field with eight birdies and ranked among the tournament's top 10 in par-4 scoring average (4.05, +1).
Hayden Bowman carded rounds of 74 and 75 to sit at 5-over 149, highlighted by 24 pars — tied for ninth-most in the field.
Freshman
Dylan Ford posted rounds of 83 and 78, while sophomore
Tyler Bales competed as an individual and was not part of the team scoring.
As a team, LCU ranked fourth in the field in par-4 scoring (4.19, +19) and tied for first in total eagles (3). The Chaparrals recorded 22 birdies and 105 pars over 36 holes but were even on the par-5s (5.00 average), an area that could prove pivotal in Tuesday's final round. LCU also limited damage with 40 bogeys, tied for eighth-lowest in the field.
The Rattler Invitational marks LCU's first event of the spring slate following the fall portion of the schedule. With three players inside the top 30 and separation minimal on the leaderboard, the Chaparrals enter the final round within striking distance as they seek a strong opening statement to the spring campaign.
