RICHARDSON, Texas (February 26, 2026) - The Lone Star Conference announced Thursday that Lubbock Christian University senior
Maximiliano Dufey has been named LSC Men's Golfer of the Week, marking the first weekly honor of his career and the program's first this season.
Dufey, a business major from Santiago, Chile, earned the recognition following his performance at the RJGA Stockton Invitational. He tied for 16th place in a 112-player field, finishing at 1-under-par 143 with rounds of 71 and 72 in the 36-hole event. The tournament featured 21 teams, including multiple NCAA Division II West Region programs.
Dufey was the top Lone Star Conference finisher in the field and helped lead LCU to an 11th-place team finish at 593 (+17), as the Chaparrals contended for a top-10 showing in a highly competitive tournament.
He demonstrated consistency throughout the event, carding 25 pars and six birdies while playing the par-3 holes at 1-under (2.88 average). His steady play positioned LCU among several regionally ranked programs and highlighted one of his strongest performances of the season.
The honor marks the first LSC Men's Golfer of the Week award for LCU since Sept. 19, 2019, when
Jeff Maciejewski received the distinction. Maciejewski now serves as Lubbock Christian's head golf coach.
Dufey's selection continues a recent stretch of strong play for the senior as the Chaparrals return to the links March 16 in Edmond, Okla. At the Oak Tree Invitational hosted by Oklahoma Christian at Oak Tree Country Club.
