WACO, Texas (March 25, 2026) – Lubbock Christian University's track and field teams ran their penultimate regular season meet on Friday and Saturday, competing at the Michael Johnson Invite where they got two new provisional marks.

Both provisional marks came on the men's side and in the 400-meter where
Daniel Sianez and
Chris Moffett placed eighth and ninth, respectively. Sianez ran his fastest time of the 2026 season, crossing the finish line in 46.93 seconds. It is the 26
th-fastest time in Division II this year. Moffett was right behind him with a time of 46.95 seconds that is a new personal best.

The Chaparrals got a whopping five more top-10 finishes at the meet, including a top-5 finish from
Matthew Gordon. Gordon ran the 800-meter with a time of 1:51.52. He was just a second shy of recording an NCAA provisional mark.

Also on the distance side,
Samuel Bryan placed 10
th in the 1500-meter. Bryan recorded a 4:02.40, which is his fastest mark this season to earn the placement. The final running event top-10 finish came from Jaqualand Fields, who also took 10
th but in the 400-meter hurdles. He finished the race with a time 53.50.

In the field events,
Maurice Gray placed ninth in both the long and triple jump. His long jump mark was 7.13 meters, and his triple jump was 14.58 meters.

On the women's side, there were three top-10 finishes, led by
Olivia Weider in the 1500-meter. The Austria native ran a new PR in the event with a time of 4:42.84, which was good enough to place fourth, ahead of a number of Division I athletes.

In the 400-meter,
Elizabeth Florez took 10
th with a time of 55.11, which is actually an NCAA provisional mark, but was not better than the 54.58 that she already recorded this season.
Joy Egwu was right behind her in the event with a time of 55.54.

The final Lady Chap with a top-10 finish came on the field side, where
Paige Byford took 10
th in the high jump. She cleared 1.55 meters to earn her place.

Lubbock Christian will wrap up the regular season next week and compete close to home as they head to the Corky Classic, hosted by Texas Tech.
