LADY CHAP HEADERS

• Lubbock Christian University heads back out on the road this weekend, trying to remain unbeaten in LSC play when they take on UT Tyler at 1 p.m. at the Perkins Soccer Complex
• With a 2-0-3 league record, the Lady Chaps now have nine points, putting them in a three-way tie for fourth place, and they are one of only four teams still without a loss in LSC competition
• Three Lone Star Conference teams remain undefeated overall this season, including Midwestern State (8-0-1), Texas Woman's (9-0) and Dallas Baptist (8-0)
• Sydney Smith's second-half score against the Mustangs is the first goal given up by MSU all season and the second goal she has scored in 2026
• LCU has only lost once through its first nine matches, making this their best start to a season since 2021, when they did not lose their second match until the 10th game of the year

 
OFFENSIVE OUTPUT
The Lady Chaps did something on Wednesday night that no other team has been able to do so far this season, and that was to score a goal against Midwestern State. Previously, the Mustangs had not allowed a goal in eight games, their longest streak in program history. LCU's offense has been better than league average this season with 2.11 goals per game. They scored eight times in an early-season game against Western Colorado, which is the second-most scored by an LSC team this season. Logan Holloway leads the team in goals and points with four and nine, respectively. Eight other Lady Chaps have found the back of the net this season, including six with multiple goals.
 
AWARD CENTRAL
Lubbock Christian University goalkeeper Emma Wright was named the Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Wright notched two clean sheets and made 15 saves as LCU remained undefeated in LSC play. Against Sul Ross, she set a new career high with 10 saves, becoming the first Lady Chap to reach the double-digit save mark in a game since 2023. She followed it up with five more saves against Angelo State in a 2-0 LCU win.
 
ALL THE WRIGHT PLACES
LCU's goalkeeper made another five saves on Wednesday night against the Mustangs, raising her season total to 40, which is the fifth-most in the LSC. Her .851 save percentage is best among those with more than 30 saves. In eight games, Wright has faced 95 shots and allowed just seven goals for a goals against average of 0.88. Wright surpassed the 100-save mark for her LCU career earlier this season and is now at 138 as a Lady Chap. She has a career save percentage of .812 and her goals against average is 0.98 in 35 games played. She is 14-11-7 in her collegiate career.
 
FIRST THINGS FIRST
Lubbock Christian continues to be at their best this season when they are the first team to score in a game. In games in which they score first, they are a perfect 4-0-0. Conversely, they are 1-1-1 in the three games where the opposing team has scored first. Their one comeback win this season came at Oklahoma Christian, when the allowed a goal in the sixth minute but came back to win 2-1. Furthermore, LCU is 3-0-0 in games where they lead at halftime.
 
IN THEIR DEFENSE
The Lady Chaps held the Mustangs to just one goal in the game, well below their season average of 3.29 coming into the contest. LCU has a goals against average of just 0.89 this season, which is the sixth-best mark in the LSC. Lady Chap opponents are averaging just 11.7 shots per game and have put 51.4 percent of those shots on goal. They have shut out three opponents, including back-to-back shutouts of Sul Ross and Angelo State last week. Freshman Araceli Patterson has anchored the back line, leading the team with 629 minutes of play in her inaugural collegiate campaign.
 
ROAD JOURNAL
The Lady Chaps have gone undefeated through their first five road games this season, beating Western Colorado, CSU-Pueblo and Oklahoma Christian and tying with Sul Ross. Counting Saturday's contest, there are five road games left on the 2026 schedule. LCU went 4-3-1 away from home in 2025, marking the first time they were better than .500 on the road since 2019. Citizens 1^st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex holds 1,000 fans and features a natural grass playing surface. The Patriots are 2-1 there this season.
 
SCOUTING THE PATRIOTS

• UT Tyler boasts the second-best offense in the LSC with an average of 2.83 goals per game, but nine of their 17 scores came in one game against East Central
• Eleven different Patriots have scored this season, led by Danica Anaya and Ella Anderson, who have three goals apiece
• Robbi Curry has handled the majority of the goalkeeping, making 15 saves with a goals against average of .55 with a save percentage of .833
• UT Tyler is one game short on their schedule, as Eastern New Mexico was forced to cancel a contest against the Patriots earlier this year due to lack of healthy players
• Head coach Stefani Webb is in her 22^nd season at the helm of the Patriot program with a career record of 213-102-38
