History between Lubbock Christian and Texas-Permian Basin
The Lady Chaps and Falcons first squared off in 1995 and have met 35 times since, with LCU owning a 32-4 series advantage over the Falcons. UTPB's four back-to-back victories came during the 2005 and 2006 seasons; the Lady Chaps have won the following 10 times.

Lubbock, Texas (November 1, 2014) – Freshmen Channing Castleberry and Samantha Matthews combined for 24 kills and five blocks, offering their Lady Chap seniors a nice farewell gift during Lubbock Christian's 3-0 win over Texas-Permian Basin on Saturday afternoon at the Rip Griffin Center. Castleberry totaled a game-high 14 kills and Matthews supplied 10 kills along with four blocks in the final home contest for Christa Daniel, Abby White, Erin Fisher and Amy Edwards. The quad put together quite the collective performance in their final match at The Rip, with Fisher tallying game-highs of 43 assists and five blocks, Edwards providing nine kills and five blocks, White totaling nine kills, and Daniel notching a game-high 21 digs.
Lady Chaps in national rankings (9/21/15)
Libero Kelsie French is the national leader in total digs with 298 and ranks fifth in digs per set at 6.48. The redshirt freshman from Frenship High was the Heartland Conference Libero of the Week September 14. Setter Mallory Powell is fifth in the country in total assists with 470 helpers. The redshirt sophomore from Aledo earned Heartland Conference Setter of the Week honors September 7.
As a team, the Lady Chaps are third-best nationally in team digs with 851, fourth in total attacks with 2,039 and eighth in team attacks per set with 39.67.
Lady Chap rally blown off by Jets
LUBBOCK, Texas (September 19, 2015) – The Lubbock Christian University volleyball team battled from an 0-2 match deficit against Newman Saturday afternoon inside the Rip Griffin Center but came up short in the fifth set to suffer their fourth consecutive loss in 2015, the most successive setbacks the Lady Chaps have undergone since the 2006 season where the team lost seven straight.
The five-set match (21-25, 15-25, 25-20, 25-23, 11-15) featured all three Heartland Conference Players of the Week in Newman's hitter Ashley Gonzalez and setter Alexus Litts, along with LCU's libero, Kelsie French.
For LCU, three players totaled double-digit kills: Johnson (14), Hanaway (13) and Froeschl (11). Powell handed out 47 assists and registered a career-high 25 digs. French also had a career-high in digs with 39.
For the Jets, Gonzalez racked up 26 kills while Litts registered 57 assists.
