With Lubbock Christian University suffering their first ever NCAA postseason defeat and their first loss of the 2016 NCAA Division II South Central Region Championship Saturday afternoon (a 6-2 loss to Angelo State University), the Chaps fall into an elimination game against St. Edward's. The first pitch is scheduled for 8 p.m. (Central) and it is each team's second game of the day.
 
IF LCU WINS
If the Chaps claim their 38^th win of the season, they advance to the tournament's championship game(s) beginning Sunday at 1 p.m. (Central). LCU would have to defeat Angelo State to advance to the NCAA Division II World Series in Cary, N.C.
 
IF LCU LOSES
The Chaps would have their season end with a loss. Their first season with NCAA and Heartland Conference postseason eligibility, LCU would end their season with a mark of 37-19.
