Lady Chaps Hosting TAMIU For Senior Day and Final Home Match

LCU Still Fighting For One of Four Conference Tournament Spots

LUBBOCK, Texas (October 28, 2017) – Lubbock Christian University plays their final home match of the season Saturday at noon hosting Texas A&M International for a Heartland Conference contest.  LCU will seek to begin a new win streak, as a 3-2 loss Thursday to St. Mary's ended LCU's 10-match conference home win streak. The loss placed LCU with a 5-4 conference record (8-15 overall), placing them in third place in the conference standings. St. Mary's (7-2) is ahead of them, while St. Edward's and Dallas Baptist are each tied for fourth place with a 4-5 mark.  LCU has three matches remaining in the regular season.

TEXAS A&M INTERNATIONAL (2-20, 0-8) | Saturday, Oct. 28 | Noon
Rip Griffin Center (Lubbock, Texas)
 |
• The Lady Chaps are a perfect 12-0 against the Dustdevils all-time. Eight of the 12 victories have come in 3-0 sweeps for LCU. LCU defeated TAMIU 3-1 earlier this season in Laredo (Sept. 30).
• The Dustdevils are entering the week looking to end a 12-match losing streak. They are 2-20 overall and 0-8 in the Heartland Conference. They were preseason picked seventh in the conference. Their conference losing streak is at 12 consecutive matches.
• Nineteen (19) of TAMIU's 22 matches this season have been away from home. The Dustdevils (1-8 on the road this season) will return home after Saturday's match to play their final three matches of the season at home. Their lone road win of the season was on Sept. 7 at Clark Atlanta.
• TAMIU ranks fourth in the Heartland Conference in aces, with 102 on the season (third in per set average at 1.3). Leah McManus leads TAMIU with 25 (fourth in HC).
• Ronnie Fountain ranks third in the HC in assists with 551 on the season.

GAME NOTES
• If LCU can garner a win over TAMIU, they will complete their home schedule with a 6-5 mark on the season. It would also mark the second straight season in which they would have complete their home schedule with less than two conference losses at home, as they are 4-1 at home this season in Heartland play.
• The Lady Chaps rank 74th in digs per set (17.4), with Kelsie French ranking 15th individually with 5.9 digs per set. She is 14th nationally in total digs with 511.
• Freshman Brynn Warnack has moved into third in the Heartland Conference in assists per set with a mark of 7.2 per set.
• Of LCU's 23 matches, they have only won the opening set five times.  They are 5-0 this season when winning the opening set (3-15 when losing the opening set).
• With 13 kills Tuesday, Lauren Zoller has had at least 10 kills produced in seven straight home matches.
• LCU produced 13 aces Thursday against St. Mary's, marking the most since they served up 13 against MidAmerica Christian Univeristy on Oct. 21, 2011.
