SAN ANTONIO, Texas (September 28, 2017) – Lubbock Christian University plays their fifth match of an eight-match road trip and they seek their first Heartland Conference win of the season Thursday facing St. Mary's University. The match is the first of two matches inside Bill Greehey Arena, as they will face Tarleton State in a neutral site meeting Friday. LCU is 1-3 on the current road trip.

• St. Mary's holds a 10-8 advantage in the all-time series dating back to 1980. The Lady Chaps are riding a six-match win-streak against the Rattlers.
• The Rattlers have won three of their prior four matches for a 6-7 overall mark. They are 1-1 in conference and are 2-0 at home. They were preseason picked sixth in the conference.
• StMU ranks second in the Heartland Conference in aces per set with a mark of 1.48 per set (0.02 per set behind Newman).
• Bree Perry is the reigning Heartland Conference Setter of the Week. She collected 167 assists over the course of four matches. Perry averaged 10.44 assists per set.
• Tarine Grace and Channing Hankins are each All-Conference Preseason selections. Grace leads the team in hitting percentage (.209), while Hankins leads the team in kills per set (3.4).
 
GAME NOTES
• LCU is 0-2 in conference play for the first time in program history. The Lady Chaps are opening the season with their first four conference matches away from home.
• The Lady Chaps rank 55^th nationally in digs per set (17.6), with Kelsie French ranking 23^rd individually with 5.7 digs per set. She is 48^th nationally in total digs with 246.
• LCU has won the prior six head-to-head meetings against the Rattlers. The previous StMU win over LCU was Oct. 19, 2013 in Lubbock. The previous meeting was a 3-0 LCU win on Oct. 28, 2016 in San Antonio, marking the 300^th career coaching victory for head coach Jennifer Lawrence.
• Brynn Warnack is coming off a 15-dig, 10-dig double-double performance at Newman Saturday, which has her leading the team with four double-doubles this season.
• Lauren Zoller ranks third in the Heartland Conference in attacks per set with a pace of 9.5 per set.
• Coming off their best block performance of the season (11 blocks) on Sept. 16 against Nebraska - Kearney, LCU has followed with their lowest two block performances of the season.  Thursday at Arkansas – Fort Smith, LCU had four blocks and Saturday at Newman, Channing Stewart had the team's only block.
