Lady Chaps and No.15 TexAnns Meeting Up in Alamo City

LCU Facing Nationally Ranked Tarleton State Looking To End Four-Game Skid

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (September 29, 2017) – Lubbock Christian University looks to end a four-match losing skid Friday, as they continue their eight-match road trip playing a neutral site match against No.15 Tarleton State. The game is scheduled at St. Mary's University's Bill Greehey Arena, where LCU fell 3-2 Thurday night. LCU is 1-4 on the current road trip, which continues in Laredo, Texas Saturday following their match against the nationally ranked TexAnns.

• The Lady Chaps have won 22 of the 32 (22-10) contests between the two squads in a series that dates to 1979. However, the teams have only faced each other four times in the past two decades, with LCU pulling out wins in 1996, 2004 and 2015. Early last season (Sept. 8, 2016) in Stephenville, Texas, Tarleton edged out LCU 3-2 for their first win over LCU since the 1994 season. LCU last win was a meeting (Oct. 24, 2015) in a neutral site match3 in Wichita, Kan., which LCU won 3-1.
• The No.15-ranked TexAnns enter the week having won three straight matches and five of their prior six matches for a 10-4 overall mark. They were preseason picked second in the Lone Star Conference.
• Tarleton ranks inside the top-100 nationally in all statistical categories except Aces (156th). They are 25th in kills per set with a mark of 13.7.
• Hailey Roberts had 37 kills over LCU last season and ranks second nationally this season in total kills with 232 and seventh in kills per set (4.6).
• Jordyn Keamo is one of 10 players across NCAA Div. II this season to record a triple-double.
 
GAME NOTES
• LCU is 1-3 in neutral site matches this season. The Lady Chaps, 3-10 overall on the season, lone win of the season in a neutral site location came in their season opener in Portland, Ore. over Westminster.
• The Lady Chaps rank 55th nationally in digs per set (17.6), with Kelsie French ranking 23rd individually with 5.7 digs per set. She is 48th nationally in total digs with 274.
• LCU is 1-5 against ranked teams since playing a NCAA Division II schedule in 2013. The one win came on Sept. 7, 2015 against West Texas A&M. LCU, 0-4 against top-10 teams since 2013, is 0-1 against ranked teams this season after a 3-0 loss to No.6 Nebraska – Kearney on Sept. 15.
Leah Roberson set a career high with nine kills Thursday for LCU and posted a .316 kill percentage.
Lauren Zoller ranks third in the Heartland Conference in attacks per set with a pace of 9.4 per set.
• TSU is LCU's fourth Lone Star Conference opponent this season. LCU is 2-1 against LSC squads this season, with wins over Eastern New Mexico and Texas – Permian Basin.
