LUBBOCK, Texas (August 1, 2018) – Lubbock Christian University head men's golf coach
Gary Belt has announced the Fall schedule for the Chaparrals. LCU will compete in four tournaments throughout the semester across three separate states. Competition will kick off in September and span a two-month period before October conclusion.
The Chaps will open up the season, for the second consecutive year, at the Farmers Insurance Invitational hosted by Colorado State University-Pueblo. Tournament action will be held at Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo, Colo. and will span Sept. 3-4.
Six days later, LCU will be at it again, this time traveling to Amarillo, Texas for the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational. The West Texas A&M University hosted event will tee off Sept. 10 before wrapping up Sept. 11 at Tascosa Country Club.
Following a break for the remainder of the month, Lubbock Christian will return to action Oct. 1-2 in Albuquerque, N.M. for the Western New Mexico University Fall Invitational. Play will be held at Championship Course at University of New Mexico.
Finally, the Chaparrals will close out their Fall semester Oct. 15-16 at the Midwestern State Invitational. MSU Texas will operate as the host institution with all 54 holes being held at Wichita Falls Country Club in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Lubbock Christian will look to build upon a 2017-18 season where they graduated a pair of seniors and an eighth-place finish at the Heartland Conference Championships.
Cam Toombs and Garett Louis will look to lead by example as the Chaps lone seniors for the 2018-19 campaign. Sophomores
Jeff Maciejewski and
Zach Burkholder will also return after an impressive outing during their respective freshmen seasons.
