LAREDO, Texas (February 3, 2020) – Lubbock Christian's women's golf team is in ninth place after day one of the Jack Brown Memorial at the Max Mandel Municipal Golf Course. Every single LCU golfer improved their score from the first round to the second.
Peyton Oliver was the top Lady Chap performer, shooting a 165 in the first two rounds combined. She carded an 84 in round one and then shaved off three strokes for an 81 in the second round. Oliver is in a tie for 30
th heading into round two.
Jillian Jones struggled to start the tournament, shooting a 93 in the first round. She bounced back in a big way though, scoring a 79 in round two and is now in 38
th with an overall score of 172.
Bailey Rowley is not far behind Jones in a tie for 41
st after the first day. She shot an 88 in the first round and improved by one stroke for an 87 in round two.
Ashton Mangum also saw a one-stroke improvement from round one to round two, shooting an 89 first and an 88 second. She sits in a tie for 44
th after Monday's rounds.
Samantha Blount had a seven-stroke improvement from round one to round two. She shot a 98 to start the day and then carded a 91 in the second round.
