- The Lady Chaps and Hilltoppers, who met four times during the 2018 season, have not met each other since the 2019 season (a match in Austin on Nov. 9, 2019 in which LCU lost 3-0). LCU has a 14-8 all-time advantage in the series, which dates back to the 1989 season. The Lady Chaps had won six straight meetings before SEU went on their current three-match win streak in the series. SEU has won the prior two meetings in Austin, where LCU is 6-5 all-time.
- SEU was preseason picked to finish seventh in the Lone Star Conference. They went 6-7 overall last season, finishing second in the South Division with a 6-6 conference mark. They are 13-9 this season and tied for eighth in the LSC with an 8-7 record. SEU is 4-3 at home this season, where they have won their last two matches.
- The Hilltoppers lead the LSC and rank 69
th nationally with 1.78 aces per set. Caroline Swan leads the LSC and is 39
th in Division II with 0.49 aces per set. She has 36 on the season (second in the LSC). Teammate Maya Smalls is 10
th in the LSC with a pace of 0.34 aces per set.
- SEU ranks 25
th nationally in team attacks per set, with 38.76 attacks per set. Swan is the team leader with 8.58 attacks per set, ranking 13
th in the LSC.
- Setter Emily Tran ranks second in the LSC with 10.06 assists per set, which is 48
th nationally. She has 724 total assists, ranking third in the conference.

- St. Mary's holds a 14-11 advantage in the all-time series dating back to 1980. The Lady Chaps had a six-match win-streak against the Rattlers, until falling all three meetings during the 2017 season. LCU bounced back and had a three-match win streak until defeating LCU in the season opener in Oklahoma City (3-2 on Sept. 3). Despite the loss, LCU has won nine of the last 13 meetings in the series. The Lady Chaps are 4-2 all-time in San Antonio. The last meeting in San Antonio resulted in a 3-2 LCU win Nov. 8, 2019, which was a StMU home game hosted at Incarnate Word (LCU has won the last two matches played in the Alamo City). Four of the last seven meetings have resulted in five-set matches, including the prior two.
- StMU went 2-10 last season (all in LSC play). Just as LCU closed last season falling in their last nine matches played, StMU closed out their season falling in their last 10 matches played. Preseason ranked No.15, they have bounced back to win 13 matches this season and are 13-9 overall, with a 7-8 conference mark. They are tied for 10
th in the LSC.
- The Rattlers open the week Friday hosting nationally ranked Angelo State before facing LCU Saturday.
- StMU ranks fourth in the LSC in digs with 1,527, which has them averaging 17.16 per set. Gabi Sandoval is third in the LSC in digs (394) and ranks eighth with an average of 4.43 digs per set.
- Alissa Tolbert leads the LSC in kills (308) and is 49
th nationally with a conference leading 966 total attacks on the season. Her rate of 3.46 kills per set is seventh in the LSC.
LADY CHAP NOTES
- LCU opened conference play with their best conference start since 2018 (6-0 start) and enter Friday's play 18-6 overall and 13-2 in conference, which has them in third place in the LSC.
- The Lady Chaps have already clinched one of 12 berths to the LSC Championships, and with their 3-2 win over No.25 West Texas A&M Friday, LCU clinched one of four first-round byes.
- The NCAA released their second region rankings of the NCAA Division II South Central Region, and LCU moved up from the No.9 spot to the No.7 spot.
- Of the Lady Chaps six losses on the season, four are against nationally ranked programs. Saturday, the Lady Chaps faced a ranked opponent (No.25 West Texas A&M) for a fifth time this season, and produced a win to improve to 1-4 against AVCA Top-25 nationally ranked programs this season.
- The Lady Chaps have provided balance in conference play, as

Jalee Sims has provided 9.29 assists per set in LSC contests. Froeschl leads the LSC in blocks in conference matches, with a mark of 61 (third in blocks per set at 1.11). LCU leads the LSC in conference matches, averaging 2.35 blocks per set.
- Lubbock Christian went 8-1 in home matches this season, hitting .221 and holding the road teams to a .137 mark in attack percentage.
Hannah Froeschl hit .323 with 2.53 kills per set at home.

- LCU went 0-13 in the second set of matches played last season. This season, LCU has won the second set in 20 of their 24 matches (LCU is 16-4 when winning the second set). LCU is 12-0 when winning the opening set and 14-0 this season when winning the third set.

th in the LSC. This season, LCU is hitting .217 and ranks fifth in the LSC and 67

Jalee Sims has 14 double-doubles over the past 20 matches, which has her with 25 in her LCU career (15 on the season). She ranks second in the LSC in assists (756) and is fourth in assists per set (8.69). She eclipsed the 1,000 mark in career assists at Western New Mexico (Oct. 28).
- LCU has 75 team blocks over the prior eight matches, which has them third in the LSC in total blocks (187) and in blocks per set (2.10 per set, ranking 44

Sage Chain is averaging 5.0 blocks per match in the span, including a career-high nine-block outing against Texas A&M-Commerce, which is the best mark by a Lady Chaps member this season. She leads LCU and is third in the LSC with 86 blocks (fifth in blocks per set 0.97).

- The Lone Star Conference announced their volleyball weekly honors and
Sage Chain received Offensive Player of the Week accolades for matches played November 2-8. Chain opened the week with 11 kills and 8.0 blocks for a team-leading 16 points in their win over ENMU. She followed against WT with 19 kills and five blocks (three solo) for 23 points. Chain had the final two kills in the fifth set, for a 15-13 set win to claim the match and the upset win. Her weekly totals included 30 kills, 13 blocks, 39 points, and a .338 hitting percentage, while averaging 3.33 kills, 1.44 blocks and 4.33 points per set. The honor is the first for Chain. She is the first Lady Chaps member ever honored for an Offensive Player of the Week honor by the LSC, which is the second weekly honoree this season and the third overall all-time. Hannah Froesch received Defensive Player of the Week honors by the LSC Sept. 21, and it was the first time the LSC had issued a Lady Chap with a weekly honor since Morgan Schwarz received the defensive honor Oct. 29, 2019, which was the first time LCU received a weekly honor issued by the LSC.
- With the combination of setter-play by
Jalee Sims and
Kayton Genenbacher, LCU ranks seventh in the conference assists per set (11.48).
-The Lady Chaps rank third in the LSC in conference play in holding opponents to a hitting percentage of .145. LCU has held the opposition to a sub-.100 hitting percentage in five of their 15 LSC matches.

Kendall Mahaney ranks ninth in the LSC in digs per set (4.30) and fifth in total digs (383). She has eight matches with at least 20 digs on the season and her season and career-high mark is a 26-dig performance she recorded against Texas A&M-Commerce.
- LCU has limited their opponents to 89 aces this season, which plays out to 1.00 per set and ranks as the second-best mark in the LSC (behind Angelo State at 0.80). They have a mark of 1.00 (aces per set allowed by their opponents) in LSC matches, which is second in the conference. They have held their opponents without an ace in two matches this season.
- The Lady Chaps have served up 94 aces on the season, with aces from 10 different Lady Chaps.
