- The rivalry between the Lady Chaps and Pioneers began in 1991. Tuesday's meeting marks the second consecutive season the two programs have met, but last season's meeting marked the first since October 27, 2015. Tuesday's tilt is also the fourth meeting since the 2012 season. LCU has won 53 of the 64 contests, and LCU is 6-4 against the Pioneers over the last 10 meetings. The Lady Chaps are 16-1 since 1997 inside Hutcherson Center. LCU has won the prior two meetings, including a 3-1 victory Sept. 29, 2015 in their previous visit.
- Last season, LCU opened the pushed-2020 season (played in Spring 2021) Jan. 19 with a 3-1 victory over WBU behind 16 kills from
Avery Moore. While the match was LCU's season opener, the match was recorded as a scrimmage for Wayland Baptist.
- WBU has an 8-2 record on the season. They have won seven consecutive matches, including a pair in New Orleans during a suspended tournament due to Hurricane Ida. The Pioneers are 3-0 at home this season and have won five straight on their home floor.

- For a second consecutive season, LCU is off to a 2-1 start through their first three matches of the season, and they are a win away from matching last season's win total. -The Lady Chaps consecutive straight-set wins marked the first time they have completed the task since Oct. 11 and Oct. 13, 2018.
-LCU has an attack percentage of .226 on the season, but a deeper look inside the number magnifies a positive trend. LCU hit .243 against Oklahoma Christian and .300 against Bentley, and each mark has been LCU's best mark since Oct. 25, 2018.
-
Sage Post co-led LCU with nine kills against Bentley, hitting a whopping .692. The mark has her ranked seventh in the LSC with a season average of .349.
