The match will mark LCU's first to host ASU with Keith Giboney at the helm of the Lady Chaps, as the last five meetings have been played in San Angelo. LCU has not hosted ASU since a 3-0 ASU win on Feb. 10, 2021. LCU is 2-6 all-time against ASU in Lubbock, with their previous win coming on Oct. 22, 2019, as ASU was nationally ranked No.15.

LADY CHAP NOTES
- LCU was one of 13 unbeaten teams this season before falling 3-2 Sept.14 to UT Permian Basin. The season start was their best since opening 2010 with an 8-0 record. The loss also ended an eight-match win streak if you include their season-ending win last season (their longest under head coach Keith Giboney and the longest streak since a 12-match win streak in 2018).  The Lady Chaps went into conference play with an 8-2 record on the season and their pre-conference record was their best 10-match start to their season since opening the first 10 matches of the 2014 season with a 9-1 record. They are 4-4 in LSC play (tied for eighth in the standings) and have won four of their last five matches. They enter the contest 12-6 overall (they have already surpassed last season's 11-win season win total) following a 3-0 loss Wednesday at Texas Woman's.

- Of LCU's six losses this season, all have been against Lone Star Conference members and those teams have combined for a 77-27 record (74% win percentage) so far this season.

- Kayton Genenbacher was named LSC Setter of the Week for her performances over LCU's matches last week. Genenbacher helped LCU to a 3-0 week with a trio of road wins, including a pair of come-from-behind five-set wins (at Midwestern State and St. Edward's, as she posted 139 assists at a pace of 9.93 assists per set. She posted double-double performance at MSU (54a,14d) and at SEU (39a,16d). The double-double at SEU (her ninth of the season and 20th of her career) also included a career-high five aces in the win. The five aces are tied for the second-most aces in a five-set match by a Lady Chaps member since 2008. The junior from Lubbock closed out the week with 46 assists (11.5 per set) against St. Mary's.

The honor marks the second time an LCU setter has been recognized with a Setter of the Week honor by the LSC (all-time) and each have come this season for Genenbacher, who is one of two setters in the LSC to receive multiple weekly honors (from the LSC). The honor marks the third time this season a Lady Chaps member has claimed a LSC weekly honor. Outside of Genenbacher's honor, Kiana Fallaha received Offensive Player of the Week honors Sept. 12..

Her assists are fueling a Lady Chaps offense that rank eighth in the LSC in kills per set (12.6) and is hitting .200 on the season. - LCU ranks ninth in the LSC (64th nationally) in digs per set (16.4), but it has been a balanced effort, as the Lady Chaps do not have any representation in the top-15 in conference leaders in digs. Chloe Menard is LCU's leader with 3.61 digs per set, as she has 256 total digs on the season. Four Lady Chaps (Menard, Genenbacher, Olivia Elofsson and Fallaha) have at least 2.6 digs per set.
