CANYON, Texas - The Lubbock Christian Track & Field program raced to 18 top-5 finishes at the Jo Meaker Classic & Multis Thursday and Friday.
Bryce Spencer highlighted the meet for LCU, finishing first in the men's discus and hammer throw. Spencer set a new LCU program record with a mark of 67.82 meters to bring home gold in the hammer throw. Shattering his own record he set last season. In the discus, Spencer threw 52.05 meters to claim the first place finish.
For the Lady Chaps,
Olivia Weider took home bronze in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:53.05.
Chloe Trull also placed top-5 in the 1500 meter, running a 5:04.88 to finish fifth. The team of
Anna Salisbury,
Jozlyn Arana,
Anika Beukes, and
Kamille Boyd finished third in the 4X100 meter relay with a time of 47.10. In the women's high jump,
Alyssa Singletary brought home the silver medal with a mark of 1.63 meters.
Kylie Knapp and
Drew Grellhesl tied for fourth place in the pole vault both clearing a height of 2.90 meters.
Skyler Dempsey and Esparanza Cruz finished third and fourth, respectively in the javelin.
On the men's side,
Nathaniel Luna ran a 10.20 to bring home the bronze in the 100 meter dash. Luna also finished fifth in the 200 meter with a time of 20.89. In the 800,
Riley Webb finished in third place with a time of 1:56.51. LCU had a trio of top-5 finishers in the 1500 meter as
Hagen Sage,
Kaleb Gaona, and
Alfons Rawall placed third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.
Maddox Fraizer ran a 58.15 in the 400 meter hurdles to finish fifth. The team of Luna,
George Garcia,
Keitron Boyd, and
Chris Rader brought home the silver in the 4X100 meter relay, running a time of 40.29.
