Sikora Shines as Lady Chaps Power Past Dustdevils for 14th Straight Win

Freshman Outside Hitter Tallies 20 Kills as Lady Chaps Stay Unbeaten in Conference Play

LAREDO, Texas (October. 24, 2025) – A career night from freshman Emilee Sikora powered Lubbock Christian University to its 14th straight victory, as the Lady Chaps claimed a 3–1 win (25–10, 25–19, 21–25, 25–13) over Texas A&M International on Friday evening inside the TAMIU Kinesiology and Convocation Building. The victory improved LCU to 18–4 overall and 10–0 in Lone Star Conference play, marking its best league start since opening 12–0 in 2009 and keeping the Lady Chaps as the only unbeaten team in the conference.

Sikora was electric from the opening serve, finishing with a career-high 20 kills — the first 20-kill performance by a Lady Chap this season and the program's first since Lily Bickley's 24 kills against Dallas Baptist (Nov. 16, 2024). Her 20 kills tie for the sixth-most in a four-set match in program history during the rally-scoring era (since 2008), and her 55 attempts rank as the fifth-most in a four-set match in that same span.

The balanced attack saw three other Lady Chaps reach double figures offensively. Jade Workman was nearly unstoppable, hitting .550 with 11 kills, while Bickley added 10 kills on a sharp .417 hitting percentage, marking her 14th double-digit outing this season and 53rd of her career. Setter Camdyn Sears continued her steady hand with 44 assists and 12 digs for her 14th double-double of the season and fifth consecutive match with double-double production.

Defensively, LCU controlled the back row with four players in double figures for digs. Abby Dominguez led the way with 18 digs, followed by Ramsey Clark (15), Sears (12), and Olivia Elofsson (11). Collectively, LCU held the Dustdevils to a .182 attack mark and maintained consistent pressure from the service line and net.

The win also ended a two-match losing streak in Laredo, as the Lady Chaps improved to 7–2 all-time on the road against TAMIU and 19–2 overall in the all-time series.

TAMIU (3–16, 1–9 LSC) was led by Mia Molina's 17 kills, while setters Natalie Cisneros (25 assists) and Dilean Bounds (17 assists) combined to pace the offense. Faith Estrada anchored the Dustdevil defense with 16 digs.

How It Happened

SET 1 | LCU 25, TAMIU 10
Lubbock Christian opened the match with authority, shaking off an early Dustdevil point to surge ahead on a 10–4 run. Freshman Emilee Sikora powered the Lady Chaps with eight kills in the opening frame, consistently finding seams in the TAMIU block. After trading points midway through, LCU took full control down the stretch, closing the set on an 8–1 burst. Lily Bickley contributed two kills during the closing push, including the decisive strike that sealed the first set for the Lady Chaps.

SET 2 | LCU 25, TAMIU 19
Set two saw more back-and-forth action as LCU jumped ahead 5–2 before TAMIU rallied to even the score at 5–5. The Lady Chaps quickly regained momentum behind two kills from Emilee Sikora, pushing the lead back to 8–5. The Dustdevils continued to battle, tying the frame again at 12–12 and later at 17–17. From there, Camryn Blair sparked a decisive 7–0 LCU surge with a pair of kills, aided by TAMIU errors, to build a 24–17 cushion. Lily Bickley once again delivered the set-clinching kill, halting a late Dustdevil push to secure the 25–19 win.

SET 3 | TAMIU 25, LCU 19
Texas A&M International turned the momentum in set three, using a 9–3 surge midway through the frame to pull ahead and keep control. The Dustdevils capitalized on timely swings and LCU miscues to build separation, fending off any late Lady Chap rally to take the set 25–19 and extend the match.

SET 4 | LCU 25, TAMIU 13
Lubbock Christian regained full control in the fourth set, stringing together a pair of dominant runs to close out the match. The Lady Chaps broke open the frame with an early 8-1 surge behind the serve of Ramsey Clark to take a 9-4 lead. Later, they sealed the 25-13 victory with an 8-1 closing run, scoring the final six points—including an ace from Kyla Farnan and another set-clinching kill from Lily Bickley—to wrap up the 3-1 road win.

What's Next
The Lady Chaps continue their five-match road swing Saturday in Kingsville, Texas, for a 2 p.m. Lone Star Conference match against Texas A&M–Kingsville inside the Steinke PE Center.
