LUBBOCK, Texas (October 31, 2025) – Lubbock Christian used relentless defense and a balanced attack to outlast Texas Woman's in a five-set thriller Friday night at Rip Griffin Center, posting a 3–2 victory (25–15, 20–25, 21–25, 25–20, 15–13) to keep pace atop the Lone Star Conference standings. The win improved the Lady Chaps to 20–5 overall and 12–1 in LSC play, while the Pioneers dropped to 15–8 and 8–4 in league action.
LCU's offensive workload was huge — the Lady Chaps attempted 235 attacks and finished with 70 kills and 68 assists, paced by freshman
Camdyn Sears' 54 assists and a five-player kill attack.
Emilee Sikora led LCU with 15 kills (a new season-best attack attempts mark at 62), while
Payton Murray added 14 kills,
Lily Bickley chipped in 12 kills with five blocks,
Bryleigh Schweer had 12 kills and a team-high three aces, and
Jade Workman contributed 10 kills. Setter Sears also posted 22 digs, finishing with her fourth 50+ assist outing of the season and fueling a balanced offense that produced the most kills for LCU since Nov. 16, 2024. Defensively, the Lady Chaps amassed 125 team digs — the highest single-match total since Oct. 16, 2024, and the top mark in NCAA Division II this season — paced by
Olivia Elofsson's career-high 27 digs and
Abby Dominguez's 24 digs.
Texas Woman's (15–8, 8–4 LSC) battled throughout, finishing with 60 kills and 115 digs as a team. Myracle Stockman and Tori Woods provided co-led the Pioneers with 16 kills each, and Lorena Gomez (19) and Kiana Reed (26 assists) helped the Pioneers with passing and distribution. They received a whopping 42 digs from Alyssa Rojo.

» LCU produced 222 attack attempts Tuesday at West Texas A&M, (seventh highest in the program's current rally scoring era - since 2008) and followed it Friday with a season-high 235 attempts, which is third in program history (under the current rally scoring era – 2008) and the most since 237 at Newman (Oct. 16, 2014). The mark is the highest in the LSC this season (highest in LSC since Texas A&M-Kingsville had 236 on Nov. 2, 2022) and the second-highest total in NCAA Division II play this season.
» The Lady Chaps recorded 70 kills, their most since posting 82 against Dallas Baptist on Nov. 16, 2024. With the high kill total came an equally strong assist mark, as LCU finished with 68 assists — their highest since that same match versus DBU.
Camdyn Sears paced the offense with 54 assists, while Dominguez matched her career high with seven assists to help fuel the attack.

» The win improved to 8-2 at home and have won seven consecutive home games. Friday was a little of a homecoming for LCU, as they had played their prior five games on the road and had not played at home since Oct. 11.
» The Lady Chaps ended a three-game losing skid in the all-time series against TWU and improved to 6-8 against the Pioneers (first win since Oct. 5, 2022). LCU also moved to 3-3 at home against TWU all-time. The meeting was the third needing a decisive fifth set and LCU has now won two of the three decided in five sets.

Payton Murray's successive kills, aided by Sears, extended the lead to 20-10. Despite a late rally by the Pioneers, which included kills from Myracle Stockman and Sydney Garrison, the Chaps secured the set 25-15 with a final point from
Jade Workman. LCU, led by six kills in the frame from Murray, had 20 kills in the set (Sears assisted on 16 of them).
SET 2 | TWU 25, LCU 20
The second set featured a competitive exchange between the Lady Chaps and the Pioneers, with the latter ultimately securing the set 25-20. After an early lead by TWU, the Chaps closed the gap with a series of plays, including a kill by Murray and a service ace by Schweer, tying the score at 9-9 (one of two she had in the match). TWU regained momentum with a 5-0 run, highlighted by effective blocks and attacks, bringing the score to 20-17. Despite a late push from the Lady Chaps, the Pioneers capitalized on multiple attack errors by the home team to close out the set with a 25-20 win (LCU had seven attack errors in the set).
SET 3 | TWU 25, LCU 21
The third set saw TWU rally from an early deficit to secure a 25-21 victory over the Lady Chaps. The home team initially led 4-2 after capitalizing on multiple attack errors by Garrison. Workman contributed significantly for the Lady Chaps, with a team-leading four kills in the set, as she extended their lead to 10-6. However, TWU steadily closed the gap, with Tori Woods and Garrison delivering key kills to bring the score to 18-18 (Woods had 6 kills and 7 digs in the set). Cat Millsap's effective service run, which included an ace, shifted momentum, allowing the Pioneers to take a 22-21 lead. Stockman's kill and Millsap's service ace concluded the set, giving TWU a four-point win.

The fourth set saw the Chaps secure a 25-20 victory over the Pioneers to force a decisive forth set. Sikora contributed significantly with multiple kills, including one that tied the game at 4-4 and another at 20-17 to maintain the Chaps' lead. The home team capitalized on attack errors from Garrison, with Bickley and Sears combining for a crucial block to extend their advantage to 23-20. Murray sealed the set with a final kill from
Abby Dominguez's assist, concluding the match in favor of the Lady Chaps, who received 10 digs in the set from

SET 5 | LCU 15, TWU 13
In a tense fifth set, the Chaps secured a 15-13 victory over the Pioneers. The home team jumped out to an early lead, with Murray and Workman contributing key kills, making it 2-0 and 7-2, respectively. Sikora and Bickley each added kills to maintain the momentum for the Chaps. The Pioneers mounted a comeback, with Stockman leading the way with multiple kills, evening the score at 13-13. However, Workman and Bickley delivered decisive kills to close out the set and the match for the Lady Chaps. Sikora and Workman co-led LCU with three kills each (in the set).
