LUBBOCK, Texas (November 12, 2025) – Lubbock Christian closed the regular season in style, clinching at least a share of the Lone Star Conference regular-season title with a dramatic five-set 3-2 victory over Midwestern State on Wednesday night at Rip Griffin Center (25–20, 25–18, 23–25, 23–25, 15–12). The Senior Night win sent the Lady Chaps to 23–6 overall and 15–2 in LSC play, the program's first LSC crown and 14th conference title overall, and set a new single-season program high for conference wins (15).
LCU's offense and defense were both historic — the Lady Chaps finished with 75 team assists, the second-highest single-match total of the current rally-scoring era, and 239 attack attempts, the second-most in program history for a match in that span. LCU piled up 78 kills and 119 digs, the fifth-highest dig total in the rally era and the most by any LSC team this season. Freshman setter
Camdyn Sears ran the show with a career-high 65 assists and added 10 digs, recording her 19th double-double of the season and ranking among the top single-match assist totals in program history.
The Lady Chaps got big nights from several hitters.
Payton Murray posted a career-high 18 kills,
Emilee Sikora delivered 20 kills off a team-high 63 attempts, and
Lily Bickley added 14 kills (her 59th career double-digit outing).
Jade Workman (12) and
Bryleigh Schweer (10) also reached double figures as five Chaps finished with 10 or more kills. Defensively,
Abby Dominguez led the way with 31 digs, her 12th 20-plus dig performance of the season;
Olivia Elofsson and
Ramsey Clark each had 17 digs, and
Kyla Farnan posted 13. Every player who checked in had at least four digs as LCU finished with 119 team digs.
The conference regular season title shared the spotlight with Senior Night, as prior to the match, LCU recognized five seniors (Bickley, Dominguez, Elofsson, Murray and Schweer) along with student-assistant
Brooke Hooten.
Midwestern State (16–10, 9–8 LSC) battled back in the middle frames, using timely blocks and balanced hitting to even the match before LCU prevailed in the fifth. The Mustangs were paced by Isabella Dickens (21 kills) and Trinity Vinzant (16 kills, 17 digs for the double-double), but they couldn't overcome LCU's volume attack and back-row resilience late. Additionally, Demi Stauffenberg (26 digs, 10 kills) and Alayna Guerrero (54 assists, 16 digs) also produced a double-double. The Mustangs must now scoreboard-watch to see if they can qualify for the last spot in the LSC Championships.

Kiana Fallaha's 71 attempts on Sept. 13, 2024, against Hawai'i Hilo. Sikora co-led LCU with 15 kills for her 16th match with at least 10 kills (has double-figure kill production in 12 of her last 14 matches played). Sikora finished the match with her third 20+ outing in kills with 20, which also marked her 17th match with at least 10 kills.

Camdyn Sears, who assisted on four straight kills during a 6–0 run (three straight kills in the surge by Sikora) that stretched the lead to 20–13. Midwestern State briefly rallied with back-to-back kills from Trinity Vinzant and an ace from Aissa Villarreal to trail 20-17, but LCU responded with a 4-1 run. With poise, LCU prevailed as

SET 2 | LCU 25, MSU 18
Lubbock Christian carried its momentum into the second set and never let go, using another well-balanced attack to secure a 25–18 win and take a 2–0 match lead over Midwestern State. The Lady Chaps overcame an early 2–0 deficit with kills from
Emilee Sikora. Tied 7-7, LCU went on a 5-2 run for a 12-9 lead capped by a Sikora kill. Murray and Bickley each had a pair of kills during a 6-1 LCU run to extend their lead to 19-13. They closed the set on a 6-2 scoring surge closed out with a pair of kills from Sikora, who had five kills in the set.
SET 3 | MSU 25, LCU 23
Lubbock Christian and Midwestern State traded blows throughout a tightly contested third frame, featuring 15 ties. Tied 22-22, MSU received timely kills from Vinzant, who had two in the final three points to help the Mustangs claim the set 25-23 to force a fourth frame. Schweer led LCU in the frame with five kills, but MSU was dominant in the frame with Dickens (8) and Vinzant (6) combining for 14 kills.

In the fourth set, the Chaps and Mustangs engaged in a tightly contested battle. Midway through the set, the Chaparrals rallied with a service ace from
Kyla Farnan followed by a Murray kill, closing the gap to a 16-13 deficit. Murray led a strong offensive push with multiple kills, including three consecutive ones that brought the Chaps within one point at 18-17. MSU responded with effective plays, and Dickens contributed significantly with multiple kills, helping to extend their lead. Despite a late surge from the Lady Chaps, the Mustangs secured the set with a final kill by Jaiden Wright, concluding the set 25-23 in their favor. LCU lost the set despite 19 kills, with Murray (6) and Sikora (5) combining for 11. Dickens had another solid set for MSU with seven kills in the frame.
SET 5 | LCU 15, MSU 12
In the decisive fifth set, the Chaps started off with a strong kill from Sikora, assisted by Sears, giving them the initial lead. Despite the Mustangs' efforts to keep pace, the Chaparrals maintained a narrow advantage through strategic plays, including a crucial kill by Schweer. At 7-5, Murray extended the Chaps' lead with a kill, though MSU stayed within reach with points from Arrianna Fields and Stauffenberg. An attack error by MSU allowed LCU to complete a 5-1 run for a 13-7 lead. LCU was sitting at match-point with a 14-9 lead, but was forced into a timeout leading 14-12. Sikora would claim the pivotal kill for the final point, securing a 15-12 set win.
What's Next
The regular season is complete for LCU; Angelo State and West Texas A&M each have remaining games and must win out to match LCU and earn a share of the LSC title. To host the LSC Championship, LCU must finish alone atop the standings (outright) — postseason schedule and site will be announced by the Lone Star Conference on Saturday.
