SAN ANGELO, Texas (November 20, 2025) – Second-seeded Lubbock Christian University survived one of the wildest matches of the Lone Star Conference season, outlasting No. 7-seed Oklahoma Christian in a five-set postseason thriller Thursday afternoon inside Junell Center–Stephens Arena, winning 3–2 (29–27, 20–25, 21-25, 25–12, 19–17). The victory sends the Lady Chaps to 24–6 and into the LSC Championship Semifinals for the first time since 2021.
LCU leaned on enormous volume and grit to advance—five players reached double-figure kills, four posted 20-plus digs, and freshman setter
Camdyn Sears delivered another elite double-double with 63 assists and a career-high 24 digs. Freshman standout
Emilee Sikora powered the attack with 23 kills (on 73 attempts) and 25.5 points, while senior
Payton Murray followed with 21 kills on a career-high 66 swings. Senior libero

Oklahoma Christian (19–10)—riding momentum from its upset of No. 13 West Texas A&M—pushed LCU to the brink behind Annie Davis (18 kills) and Kathryn Christie (15 kills). Camryn McGough posted 10 blocks, and Summer Van Meerveld (22 assists, 19 digs) and Sophie Mae Smith (29 assists, 14 digs) each had a double-double in the loss.

SET 1 | LCU 29, OC 27
The opening set was tightly contested, as neither team had more than a two-point advantage through 11 lead changes and the score knotted up 17 times. Each team had a pair of set-point serves denied before a kill attempt by Emilee Sikor during LCU's third set-point attempt (leading 28-27) was successful for the 29-27 set win. Sikora had seven kills in the opening frame, as LCU produced 22 total kills in the set and Benitez produced 12 digs.
SET 2 | OC 25, LCU 20
The second set was on the same pace, with the score tied on 10 occasions in the set and as late as 14-14 until OC went on a 9-2 run sparked by consecutive kills from Kathryn Christie for a 23-16 lead. A 4-1 run capped by a
Payton Murray kill denied another pair of Eagle set-point serves, but Katy Geurin had the clinching kill for the Eagles to even the match. Murray led LCU with five kills in the period.
SET 3 | OC 25, LCU 21
The Chaps began the third set with a balanced attack but found themselves trailing as Oklahoma Christian's Annie Davis secured multiple kills early, pushing the visitors ahead 6-2 off a 5-0 run. Despite efforts by Workman and Murray to close the gap, OC extended their lead to 13-8 with consistent offensive play from Davis and Jones. The Chaps rallied with late contributions, including a service ace by Sikora, narrowing the margin to 20-16. However, the Eagles maintained their edge, with Davis delivering the final kill to seal the set at 25-21. Murray had another consistent effort with a team-leading five kills in the set.
SET 4 | LCU 25, OC 12
Lubbock Christian secured a dominant 25-12 victory in the fourth set over OC, fueled by an impressive performance from Sikora, who contributed six kills during a critical stretch, helping the Lady Chaps widen their lead. A service ace by
Ramsey Clark was part of an 8-0 run, which was also part of a 13-1 surge to close out the fourth frame. LCU hit.289 in the set, with Sikora producing eight kills.
SET 5 | LCU 19, OC 17
In the decisive fifth set, the Lady Chaps and OC exchanged points early, with neither side gaining a significant advantage. Lauren Cary opened the scoring for OC with a kill, but Sikora responded for Lubbock Christian to tie the set at 1-1. Bickley contributed multiple key kills to keep the Lady Chaps competitive, while Christie was a major factor for the Eagles with several kills that kept the visitors in the game. The Eagles battled from an 11-9 deficit with a 4-0 run and lead1 13-11, before a pair of OC errors led to the match tied at 17-17. Workman's kill pushed Lubbock Christian ahead. Sikora's subsequent kill and an attack error by Davis gave Lubbock Christian the 19-17 victory, securing the match. Bickley and Sikora each had a trio of kills in the final frame.

No. 2-seed Lubbock Christian advances to the LSC Championship Semifinals and will face No. 6-seed Texas Woman's on Friday at 4 p.m. inside Junell Center. It is a rematch of LCU's five-set win over TWU on Oct. 31 at Rip Griffin Center. TWU advanced after a 4-1 upset of No. 3-seed West Texas A&M.
