LADY CHAP NOTES
» Lubbock Christian University volleyball (21–5, 12–1 LSC) had its 15-match win streak snapped Oct. 28 in a five-set battle at No. 14 West Texas A&M, marking its first Lone Star Conference loss of the season (The streak was LCU's longest since 2008 and ranked fifth-longest active in NCAA Division II entering the match). They bounced back in dramatic fashion Friday with a 3-2 win over Texas Woman's behind 125 digs (tied as the second-most for LCU in the current rally scoring format and is the highest total in the LSC this season) and followed with a 3-1 win over Dallas Baptist. The win over DBU marked LCU's eighth straight home win and bumps their record to 9-2 at home his season. LCU, who have already clinched a Lone Star Conference Championships (tournament) berth, have 21 regular season wins for the first time since a 21-win 2018 season. A 22nd win would be their highest single-season win total since 24 in 2012.

» Lubbock Christian continues to lead the offensive charge in the Lone Star Conference, pacing the league in both kills per set (13.93) and assists per set (13.26) — marks that rank No. 18 and No. 12 nationally, respectively. The Lady Chaps also sit third in the LSC and 11th nationally in digs per set (18.97) while maintaining one of the nation's most balanced attacks with a .220 hitting percentage (5th LSC, 74th nationally).

» Statistically dominant across every phase, LCU ranks No. 1 in the nation in both total kills (1,393) and total assists (1,326), while placing No. 2 nationally in total digs (1,897) and No. 2 in total attacks (3,956). The Lady Chaps also stand 4th in the LSC and 55th nationally in opponent hitting percentage (.155) and 4th in the LSC, 35th nationally in total blocks (193.5).

» Freshman setter Camdyn Sears continues to produce one of the top debut campaigns in Division II volleyball. The Midland native leads the Lone Star Conference in assists per set (10.41, No. 21 nationally) and ranks No. 3 nationally in total assists (1,020) after surpassing 1,000 on the season Saturday vs. Dallas Baptist. Sears owns 18 double-doubles (nine straight) and has directed an offense that tops the LSC in both kills and assists per set. Her 62-assist effort at UT Dallas remains tied for the highest four-set total in Division II this season.

» Senior middle blocker Lily Bickley remains one of the league's most efficient and productive front-line forces. She ranks 5th in the LSC (70th nationally) in hitting percentage (.335) and 7th in total blocks (79) while averaging 2.95 kills (16th LSC) and 3.51 points per set (13th LSC). Bickley has logged 18 double-digit kill performances this season and is coming off her 57th career 10+ kill match. She earned LSC Offensive Player of the Week honors (Oct. 21) after hitting .410 with 28 kills and 10 blocks in two wins.

» Freshman outside hitter Emilee Sikora has emerged as one of the top young hitters in the region, ranking 8th in the LSC in kills per set (3.25) and 10th in points per set (3.55) while totaling 302 kills (No. 3 in LSC, 45th nationally). Sikora has recorded 16 double-figure kill matches and double-digit kills in 12 of her last 14. She's also adding a defensive spark with 39 blocks on the season, including a career-high four vs. Dallas Baptist

» Libero Abby Dominguez anchors one of the nation's top defensive units, ranking No. 3 in the LSC and No. 45 nationally with 4.81 digs per set, and No. 2 in the conference (14th nationally) in total digs (481). She has posted 11 matches with 20+ digs this season, including a season-high 34, and leads an LCU defense that ranks No. 3 nationally in total digs and No. 11 in digs per set.

» Middle blocker Bryleigh Schweer continues to provide a strong net presence, ranking 6th in the LSC in total blocks (87) and 6th in blocks per set (0.97) while hitting .290 (8th LSC). She's averaging 2.06 kills and 0.97 blocks per set, highlighted by a career-best 19-point outing (15 kills, six blocks, ace) at UT Dallas.

» Outside hitter Payton Murray is heating up late in the season, producing double-digit kills in consecutive matches for the first time since September, including a season-high 15 kills vs. DBU. The senior has seven double-figure kill matches this season and 34 in her career, giving LCU a consistent secondary scoring option alongside Sikora and Bickley

» Camdyn Sears was named Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Week, marking her seventh weekly honor of the season after guiding LCU to a 2–1 week and surpassing 1,000 assists for the year. The Midland native has now collected three Setter of the Week and three Freshman of the Week honors (including one week earning both), extending her own record for the most LSC weekly awards by a freshman in program history. She joins teammates Lily Bickley, Emilee Sikora, and Jade Workman as 2025 LSC honorees — the first time LCU has produced four different weekly award winners in a single season — as the Lady Chaps have combined for a program-record 10 conference honors this fall.

LOOKING AT UTPB
- The Lady Chaps and Falcons first squared off in 1995 and have met 54 times since (55 total meetings), with LCU owning a 44-11 series advantage over the Falcons. LCU, winners of four of the prior five meetings, had won 15 consecutive matches prior to 2019, but UTPB has won seven of the last 13 meetings. LCU and UTPB squared off earlier this season (Sept. 19) in Oklahoma City, Okla., as LCU claimed a 3-1 win in the LSC Crossover. The two programs are former Heartland Conference foes and LCU was 6-0 all-time in Heartland action against the Falcons.

- Back in LCU's 3-1 win in the earlier meeting against UTPB, Lily Bickley led LCU with 13 kills on .458 hitting and seven blocks, while Emilee Sikora added 12 kills. Setter Camdyn Sears tallied 45 assists and 11 digs, and Bryleigh Schweer hit .563 with nine kills and two aces. The Lady Chaps hit .311 as a team and held UTPB (2–8) to .074.

- UT Permian Basin enters the final stretch of the season at 9–14 overall and 7–6 in Lone Star Conference play, sitting just outside the current top eight and fighting for a postseason berth in the LSC Championship. The Falcons have been streaky throughout the year, starting 1–5 before stabilizing with key midseason wins over Cameron, Oklahoma Christian, UT Dallas, and Dallas Baptist. UTPB has shown improved consistency on the road (4–6) and at home (3–3), most recently earning a five-set win over Eastern New Mexico to snap a brief skid. With matches remaining against league leaders, the Falcons' tournament hopes hinge on maintaining momentum and securing crucial late-season victories.

- UTPB ranks among the Lone Star Conference's top-five teams in total service aces (135) and sits 7th in the league and 167th nationally in aces per set (1.61), led by setter Kierra Freeman, who ranks 8th in the LSC with 0.39 aces per set.

- The Falcons' defense ranks 5th in the LSC and 49th nationally in digs per set (17.08), anchored by Kyndall Torres, who averages 3.10 digs per set to lead UTPB's backcourt effort.
