LUBBOCK, Texas (September 13, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University wrapped up its grueling season-opening stretch of 10 matches in nine days with a pair of wins Saturday inside Rip Griffin Center, sweeping Eastern New Mexico 3–0 in a non-conference matchup of Lone Star Conference foes before avenging an earlier loss to Colorado State Pueblo with a 3–1 victory to close the MCM Elegante Chap Classic.
GAME 1 – vs. ENMU
Lubbock Christian cruised to its first sweep at home on the season, downing Eastern New Mexico 3–0 (25–20, 25–15, 25–21). The Lady Chaps improved to 5–4 overall, while ENMU fell to 0–8.

Lily Bickley, who paced the attack with 12 kills on a blistering .429 hitting percentage to go along with three blocks and a service ace. Setter duo
Camdyn Sears (20 assists, five digs, ace) and
Jade Workman (14 assists, 10 digs, seven kills) kept the attack balanced.
Abby Dominguez anchored the defense with a match-high 24 digs and two aces.
Payton Murray added six kills, and Ryleigh Schweer hit .333 with five kills.
Eastern New Mexico was led by Sophia Valdez, who posted 10 kills and seven blocks, while Addison Bartlett contributed seven kills, 11 digs and two aces. The Greyhounds tallied 10 team blocks but hit just .100 overall.

The first set saw an early advantage for the visitors, with ENMU jumping to an 8-1 lead, capitalizing on service aces and attack errors by Lubbock Christian. The Chaps managed to recover from this deficit by scoring five consecutive points, bringing the score to 12-10, thanks in part to effective plays by
Lily Bickley and
Jade Workman. Eastern New Mexico's Violeta Flores contributed with multiple assists, maintaining their team slightly ahead until LCU tied the game at 14-14. A crucial turning point occurred when the Lady Chaps went on a four-point run, including two service aces by
Abby Dominguez, pulling ahead to 22-18. Despite a brief rally from the Hounds, the Chaparrals closed the set with a 25-20 victory, solidifying their comeback with strategic plays and forcing errors from their opponents. Bickley paced LCU with four kills and a block in the opening set.

LCU established an early advantage with a 4-0 run, highlighted by a kill and a service ace from
Camdyn Sears. The Greyhounds responded with a 4-point streak of their own, tying the score at 8-8, with Sophia Valdez and Jayla Yoder contributing key kills. The Chaparrals regained momentum with
Payton Murray and Bickley leading the charge, extending their lead to 15-10. Workman played a crucial role in sealing the set for the Chaparrals with two consecutive service aces, contributing to a decisive 25-15 victory. Bickley was solid again, contributing five sets in the frame.
SET 3 | LCU 25, ENMU 21
The Lady Chaps started strong in the third set against the Hounds with
Camryn Blair delivering a kill, assisted by Sears, to set the tone. The Greyhounds responded with a brief lead, as Valdez contributed two kills to help them edge ahead 3-1. The Lady Chaps then regained control with a 4-0 run that included two service aces from
Kyla Farnan, bringing the score to 5-3 in favor of LCU. Despite ENMU's efforts to close the gap, including a service ace from Addycen De La Cerda narrowing the score to 14-13, the Chaparrals maintained their lead. Sears continued to provide key assists, leading to decisive kills from Blair and Bickley. Ultimately, the Chaparrals closed out the set 25-21 with a combination of effective blocking and capitalizing on the Hounds' attack errors. Blair came off the bench and led LCU with four kills in the period.
GAME 2 – vs. CSUP
Lubbock Christian rode a balanced offensive attack and strong finishing sets to claim a 3–1 victory (25–20, 18–25, 27–25, 25–19) over CSU Pueblo in their final game of the weekend. The win lifted the Lady Chaps to 6–4 overall.
LCU's attack was balanced with four players posting double-digit points.
Camryn Blair led the way with 18 kills on .300 hitting, while
Lily Bickley added 13 kills at an efficient .480 clip.
Bryleigh Schweer supplied 11 kills and a match-high six blocks, while setter
Camdyn Sears ran the offense with 45 assists and 10 digs for a double-double. Libero
Abby Dominguez anchored the defense with a team-high 20 digs, helping LCU to 74 total.
CSU Pueblo (4–4) was paced by Caelyn Gunn, who finished with 18 kills and 16 digs for a double-double. Golden Finch chipped in nine kills and nine blocks, while setter Elena Stankovic handed out 28 assists and added eight digs.

Camdyn Sears. The teams traded points early, but the Lady Chaps managed to pull ahead to a 7-3 lead, highlighted by a service ace from
Jade Workman. CSU Pueblo responded with a service ace from Taylor Cary, closing the gap to 7-5. However, the Chaparrals built momentum with a series of kills, including notable contributions from
Bryleigh Schweer and Blair, extending their lead to 16-9. Despite a late push from The Pack, which included a service ace by Finja Schul, the Chaps held on to take the first set 25-20, with Blair sealing the set with a kill from Workman for her fifth kill of the opening frame.
SET 2 | CSUP 25, LCU 18
CSU Pueblo opened Set 2 with a strong start, securing a 6-1 lead over Lubbock Christian, highlighted by Caelyn Gunn's first of seven kills in the set. The Chaps responded with a sequence that included consecutive attack errors from CSU Pueblo's Lily Zwart, narrowing the gap to 6-4. Despite brief momentum shifts with key kills from
Payton Murray and Blair, the ThunderWolves maintained control, extending their lead to 19-11 with a service ace and consistent attacks from Gunn. Lubbock Christian made a late push, closing the deficit to 22-16, but CSU Pueblo capitalized on a kill from Gunn to end the set 25-18.

SET 3 | LCU 27, CSUP 25
In Set 3, Lubbock Christian and CSU Pueblo battled through a tightly contested set that saw several momentum shifts. The ThunderWolves initially took a 4-1 lead, but the Lady Chaps quickly responded with a 5-0 run, highlighted by
Emilee Sikora's back-to-back kills, putting them ahead 6-4. Sears played a pivotal role for Lubbock Christian, assisting on multiple kills, including three consecutive points that extended their lead to 22-18. As CSU Pueblo narrowed the gap with a late surge, eventually leading at 25-24, but the Lady Chaps secured the set victory at 27-25 with Sikora's decisive kill and assisted block alongside Schweer. Bickley and Sikora led LCU in the set with six kills each. Sikora also added three blocks. Sears exploded for 18 assists in the set, as LCU had 20 kills in the frame.
SET 4 | LCU 25, CSUP 19
In Set 4, Lubbock Christian secured a 25-19 victory over CSU Pueblo, with Blair and
Lily Bickley leading the offensive charge. The set opened with a kill by Sears to put the Chaps ahead, followed by a service error that tied the score. However, the Lady Chaps quickly regained control with a 4-0 run, including consecutive kills by Blair at 1-1 and 4-1, assisted by Sears and Workman. The ThunderWolves attempted to close the gap with a series of points, narrowing the score to 11-7, but key kills from Bickley and Blair, both assisted by Sears, pushed Lubbock Christian to a 16-9 advantage. Despite a late attempt by The Pack to rally back, a final kill by Blair from Sears sealed the set and match for the Lady Chaps. LCU hit .326 in the fourth set, closing the match with 18 kills to just four errors. Bickley and Blair each had five kills in the set. Sears posted 13 assists in the frame.
What's Next
LCU has one more weekend of non-conference play, but it is a conference event, as the Lone Star Conference Crossover gets underway Friday in Oklahoma City, Okla. Each LSC program will take place in the event and LCU and UT Permian Basin will each head to the Sooner State to join host Oklahoma Christian. LCU faces UTPB Friday and OC Saturday for their final pre-conference contests.
